We already knew almost everything about her and its slow stripping will have revealed almost everything to us. And yet! Its official presentation allows us to salivate once again in front of the sensual curves of the new GT from Modena. The new Granturismo is art, no doubt about it!
Replacing the Granturismo, produced from 2007 to 2019, the new Granturismo now shows itself in all its forms and without hiding anything. Only the interior remains hidden for now.
Designed on a whole new aluminum-based chassis (at 65%)The new coupé of the brand, which is both light and very resistant, will be available in different finishes: Modena, Trofeo and Folgore for the 100% electric version.
Length of 4.96mThe new diva of Modena is very imposing and no doubt that it will be noticed in the street.
If the proportions are equivalent to the old Granturismo, the style, too, remains faithful in its broad outlines to the old model with a muscular front end, a slim profile and a short, high rear end. The whole thing is enhanced by an updated design that is even more refined and sporty. The whole offering a concentrated elegance and tonicity typically Italian. Very nice work!
Although Maserati is not revealing anything about the interior, we already know that the world will be luxurious and will integrate the classic codes of this kind of very high-end vehicle with a modern and up to date digital instrumentation. On the program: a 12.3-inch touch screen on the center console, a 12.2-inch instrument cluster and a third 8.8-inch screen.
Under the long hood, the naturally aspirated V8 of the old Granturismo is gone. Welcome to the Nettuno V6 from the MC20 supercar! It is a V6 3.0L twin-turbo slightly modified to stick more to the "GT" spirit and less "supercar". Thus, 490hp and 600 Nm in its "basic" version Modena. All this is coupled with an all-wheel drive and an 8-speed BVA. With a weight of 1795 kg, the Modena reaches 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.9s, 0 to 200 km/h in 13s and a top speed of 302 km/h. So you can see it more in front of you than in your mirror...
For those who want more and better, the following options are available Trofeo version. The V6 then passes to 550 hp and 650 Nm. The weight is the same but the 0 to 100 km/h is reached in only 3.5s, the 0 to 200 km/h in 11.4s and the top speed is then 320 km/h. For these versions still running on fossil fuel, the presence of the 4 tailpipes underlines the hypersporting character of the Italian car.
For the version 100% electric sold in parallel and called Folgore ("lightning" in Italian), no exhaust outlets. Equipped with 3 electric motorsfor a total cumulative power of 1200 hp (!!)the overexcited Granturismo then bridles its maximum power at 760 hp to safeguard the vehicle's autonomy. Much heavier (2295 kg!!)However, you should know that its 0 to 100 km/h is dispatched in 2.9s, its 0 to 200 km/h in 8.8s and its top speed at 320 km/h.
One hitch though? The size of the brakes is still the same on the electric version despite the weight gain of almost 500 kg...
Prices start at €175,000 for the basic Modena version. For sure, we will be few to offer it... But... that bella !

Sorry but nothing to do with the unique and sublime elegance of the Alfieri. They lost an opportunity to make a strike. Maserati and on Stellantis will regret having let Ferrari stifle the Maserati revival
Like everyone else, I was impressed by the Alfieri's front end but I find this GranTurismo more sober and harmonious, especially with its very fluid profile. It will age well against the horrors of the competition.
It's beautiful in V6 and remains a real 4-seater but now it's true that Maserati must concentrate on the Alfieri in order to have an entry-level 2+2 or 2-seater car (whose platform could be shared with Lancia) to replace the 3200/4200 which unfortunately didn't get a replacement. Why not also a smaller SuperCar in the Artega GT type as descendants of the Bora and Merak still with the V6 (McLaren does it well with the same V8).
The Alfieri concept won me over immediately and I was ready to sign an order form, no matter how long I waited...
This new Granturismo is a success but it comes too late, without offering us the sporty competitor of a 911 that seduced me then...
Sorry Mr. Carlos Tavares!
Except that the Granturismo is not a competitor of Porsche but rather Aston Martin and it is the kind of product we expect.
As far as the line is concerned, it's more magnificent than the ordinary 911s that don't look like anything now (already before it wasn't the joy but now.... We touch the bottom with the frog 🐸 which became a toad.
