At the heart of the automotive industry's ecological transitions, Ferrari is also working on the electric future. In a recent statement made in March 2024, Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna promised that the brand's first electric vehicle, planned for the last quarter of 2025, would offer the same "unique" experience as that guaranteed by its historic combustion engines.

The Italian company is also turning to electric power, with the construction of a new production site in Maranello dedicated to electric motors, battery packs and power inverters.

Ferrari expects that by 2026, around 60 % of its vehicles will be hybrid or fully electric. This strategic pivot towards high-performance electric supercars aims to establish a significant market share in this new segment. As a reminderBy the 3rd quarter of 2023, Ferrari had sold more hybrid cars than combustion engines.

Speaking on CNBC, Vigna stressed that the company would continue to focus on performance, design and driving experience in its electric vehicle range, insisting that "electric cars are not silent". Ferrari is working on "sound signatures" for its EVs, that should arouse emotions and rival those produced by its combustion engines.
