Waiting for the Fiat Panda, here's the Opel Frontera, first cousin of the e-C3

In the family StellantisI ask for the cousin. Yes, after the new Citroën e-C3, and waiting for the future Fiat Panda to be unveiled in July 2024, an image of the Opel Frontera has just been leaked on social networks, on Cochespias' instagram account, ahead of its official presentation....and is reminiscent of its French cousin in many ways.

We're repeating history once again, with the aim of maximizing mutualization for maximum return (and minimum risk), the new Citroen e-C3 will give birth to technical cousins. If we knew that future Fiat Panda without knowing exactly what it will look like. apart from these few imagesit's finally the Opel Frontera which gives a clearer idea of the visual elements that will be reused.

UPDATE: at the request of Stellantis, the visual of the Opel Frontera has been blurred. The model will be presented on April 9.

Mirrors, doors, front and rear fenders, roof, door jambs... It's hard to say that Opel's designers had much freedom of action when it came to this Frontera... apart from the bumpers and wheels?

Let's not lose hope, Fiat makes turning a Citroën AMI into a Topolino more fun. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the same recipe will be applied to the future Panda, even if we have to admit that many elements will be shared.

    • More SUVs of dubious design.
Fortunately, there's still the Panda, now Pandina, and the future Panda XL, derived from the e-C3.

  1. For some time, I thought I was a victim of hallucinations. So I quickly consulted my doctor who reassured me !!! I don't see double or triple or quadruple...it's just Carlos TAVARES' desire to kill Italian brands!!!!
I've been driving ALFAs and FIATs for 25 years, but for me, my current vehicles will be the last Italian ones for a long time to come.
Buying rebadged peugeot, without inspiration, without aesthetic soul and engine no thank you....finally if the "legendary" 1.2 PURETOC can be qualified as an engine ???? It's with regret that I say: "Ciao Bellisima Machina".

    • Personally, I find everything Stellantis has released since its inception to be profoundly boring (except perhaps Avenger, in its features), and utterly lacking in ambition.

  2. I've seen a Citroën e-C3 on the road (on a set, to be precise), and I have to admit that it doesn't look too bad. As the future Panda will be based on the same thing, it could be quite something.

  3. The unnecessarily high side of the car will greatly handicap its range, with a battery that's already not very generous... Not to mention the poorly-proportioned design, with a car that's short and narrow but too high.

  4. I didn't know that all Stellantis had to do was ask for the blurring to be implemented. It's up to Stellantis to protect himself from having his information leaked.
On the other hand, given the result, I can see why they'd be ashamed to display it...

    • Yes it was bigger but it was a merguez that was sold under 7 different brands that didn't leave a lasting impression.
