Alfa Romeo Q1 2024 figures: the trend is right!

After the Stellantis figures, those of Maseratior those of the electric Fiat 500which are rather negative, let's explore Alfa Romeo performance. Although the Group is careful not to disclose the figures for each country, it is possible to see a trend by analyzing registrations in top countries. And the trend looks good for the Biscione brand.

As a reminder, in 2023, Alfa Romeo's top countries were Italy, the USA, Germany, France and Spain, together accounting for over 70 % of sales. Looking at the latest figures for these countries, we can see that a positive trend for the first quarter of 2024at least in Europe.

Following the trend of the top 5, the Italian brand posted a slight increase of 4 %. Of course, this must be weighed against the fact that it is distributed in some thirty countries. However, it is worth noting that a little concern for Italyfirst country, which is not progressing, and the United States, the second-ranked country, which is in decline. If we don't have the details of the models (for the moment), the Tonale doesn't seem to be boosting sales in Uncle Sam's country which was already at -15 % in 2023.

It's also worth noting that the Pomigliano plant, which produces the Tonale, is the only one not in the news, since it's operating at full capacity. The Italian union has announced that it will have produced over 215,000 units by 2023, an increase of +30 %, thanks to the Fiat Panda, the Alfa Romeo Tonale and the Dodge Hornet.

  1. For the USA, the explanation is simple: the Dodge Hornet is the same car (except for the grille and logos), but less expensive and with more engines.
Stellantis screwed up by offering the Tonale at a higher price than the Dodge.
Elsewhere, Junior will be used to create volume, even if a single PureTech hybrid engine is quite a deterrent.

    • The management of this group is quite mind-boggling.
People are going to tell me that I'm not the head of a multinational, that I don't have their skills, blah, blah, blah... but I have to admit I don't get it. It's all nonsense. They couldn't do better if they wanted to plant the brand.

  2. At the same time, if Stellantis did a little more TV advertising for Alfa, it would do them a world of good, because running into people who know neither the Stelvio nor the Giulia ....😱 unfortunately happens.

  3. The excellent Giulia and Stelvio have restored the brand's credibility at the top end of the market, and this is being felt throughout the range. The Peugeopel Mokkanior risks spoiling that...

Images take a long time to build up, but can be destroyed very quickly...

  4. It's a pity that the new Alfa cars don't have Alfa combustion engines. Everyone complains about the Stellantis engine. Internal combustion engines are supposed to disappear in 11 years. Why can't you find an internal combustion car anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
