Maserati: all the 2023 figures by country, top and bottom!

After Alfa Romeo, the Italian brand registrations by country Maserati under the microscope. The Trident brand is undergoing a major transformation: new sales and marketing directors, a delay in the launch of new electric 100 % products, profitability lagging behind rival brands... there's still a lot of work to be done in Modena before 2024. In the meantime, here are the 2023 figures by country.

Some countries, such as the Middle East or Morocco, may be missing in advance, as was pointed out for Alfa Romeo 2023 figures... nevertheless, it gives a good temperature of the market.

The top 5 is led by the USA, Italy, Japan, Canada and Germany. In fact, apart from Germany, the other 4 countries posted strong growth, mainly due to Grecale. Over the past 3 years, Turkey, Switzerland, Spain and Greece have also made good progress (proportionately speaking)!

For flops, France is only in 12th position, with a decline of -12 %. South Korea is almost -50 % over 2 years.

What's astonishing is to see that we must be at just over 20,000 cars if we look at registration figures by country, when the brand announces that it will have registered 26,600 units by 2023. We're short 5,000 to 6,000 cars... We had already remarked on this when noting the Maserati registrations in the first half of 2023 with a difference of 3,000 units. Perhaps they're in the Middle East? With 108 cars in the United Arab Emirates and 62 in Saudi Arabia by 2022, there's some doubt. If anyone knows where they are...

  1. If it helps, regarding the missing 6000 cars, I don't know where they are, but I know they're not in my garage unfortunately 😆

  2. I wouldn't be surprised if a large part of it was in Qatar.
Second hypothesis or rather question, does this include sales by professional rental companies? Because when I see how many Grecale, Tonales and Ghibli are on the road in Switzerland, there are quite a few with AI plates (Appenzell Inner-Rhodes), which allow many vehicles to be registered and insured for much less than in the rest of Switzerland 🇨🇭 and it's there that all the professionals have a fiscal mailbox to avoid a lot of taxes (I was one of them for 10 years).

  3. Almost as many Maseratis are sold in Belgium as in France, yet the population is 6 times smaller.
With an equivalent population, Great Britain buys 4.7 times as many Maseratis.
The French market is tiny for Maserati, no doubt because of the malus, but not only that.

  4. Ghibli Super Sport owner for 2 years
excellent car but not a fabulous design
on the other hand, the price is...and Maserati dealerships charge a very high M.O. price, but you can have it serviced for much less when it's no longer under warranty.

    • The Ghibli has a magnificent design, because it's more the Quattroporte that has an unbalanced design compared to its predecessor.

  5. Have you thought about Qatar and rental agencies? Given the constant number of AI-licensed cars on the road in Switzerland, I wouldn't be surprised if that didn't include sales to professionals, hence the glaring difference in figures.

  6. Owner of a quatroporte since 2007 has never seen the concession .
My mechanic loves to pamper her, I'd even say he's polite to her.

  7. Just like Ferrari, some are probably not even registered and are the delight of certain collectors... 6000 may seem like a lot, but...

  8. 187 sales in France by Maserati in 2023, MDR, admittedly the malus doesn't help, but by way of comparison, Porsche sold 20 times more cars in France than Maserati in 2023, so blaming everything on the malus doesn't make any sense, I think rather that a shrinking network, few renewals, absent communication, and if you add to that the reputation that the French have of Maserati, rightly or wrongly, you've got your answer!

  9. what about China and Taiwan sales? I read a report every month about Taiwan sales and more or less they sell 50 units per month
