No sooner had it been delivered to its owner than this Ferrari F80 is already making the rounds on social media. Yet it’s not its color, its 1,200-horsepower engine, or even its price tag of several million euros that’s sparking the debate. The reason is far more unexpected: a simple aesthetic detail that has deeply divided fans of the Prancing Horse brand.
For several weeks now, Instagram posts featuring this red Ferrari F80 have been drawing thousands of comments. Some consider it the most beautiful F80 ever made, while others believe it betrays the original design intended by Ferrari.
A Ferrari F80 that breaks the mold
This Ferrari F80, delivered by the Ferrari dealership in Monaco, immediately stands out from the other models we’ve seen so far. Presented in a spectacular Rosso Magma finish, it has been customized in a very distinctive way: the black strip connecting the two headlights has been repainted to match the body color.

A choice that may seem insignificant at first glance, but one that radically changes the car’s appearance. This black trim, which comes standard on all Ferrari F80the Ferrari 12Cilindri and even the Ferrari Luce, is often nicknamed «the mustache» by enthusiasts.
The Monegasque dealership confirmed the origin of this unique configuration in a post on Instagram:
«Scuderia Monte-Carlo welcomes its very first officially delivered Ferrari F80 ❤️ Designed for one of our valued clients, it features a stunning Rosso Magma finish. When exclusivity meets emotion.»
This is, in fact, an official customization project carried out for one of the dealership’s most important clients.

The mustache war has begun
Since its official unveiling in October 2024, the Ferrari F80 has been the subject of frequent debate regarding its front-end design. Many appreciate this visual signature, which gives the car a strong identity and brings it closer in style to certain Ferrari race cars. Others, on the other hand, feel that this black strip makes the car look bulky.

With this Monegasque model, the debate has taken on a whole new dimension. Social media is now divided into two distinct camps: the «with mustache» team and the «without mustache» team. For supporters of the modified version, the removal of the black strip makes the front end cleaner, more fluid, and closer in style to classic Ferrari supercars. Conversely, purists believe that this modification strips away an essential element of character from the F80’s design.
An already legendary hypercar
Beyond this aesthetic controversy, the Ferrari F80 remains one of the most exclusive cars ever produced by the Italian automaker. Limited to just 799 units, it follows in the footsteps of a prestigious lineage that includes the F40, F50, Enzo, and LaFerrari.
Under the hood lies a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a 3.0-liter V6 engine derived from the Ferrari 499P hypercar with three electric motors. The system produces 1,200 hp and 850 Nm of torque. Its performance lives up to its status: 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.15 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in 5.75 seconds, and a top speed of 350 km/h.
With a starting price of around 3.6 million euros before options, the Ferrari F80 already counts among its known future owners such celebrities as Zlatan Ibrahimović and American collector David Lee.
