Alfa Romeo Milano: first 3D images of the interior

The Alfa Romeo Milano is due to be unveiled in a few weeks' time in April, 3D images of the vehicle interior are beginning to circulate on social networks and Italian forums without really finding the source. Here we can see the steering wheel, interior door panels and dashboard.

These 3D images look authentic since a source told us several months ago that there would be the snake Alfa Romeo at the level of the car's air vents, which can indeed be seen.

The start button on the steering wheel of the Giulia, Stelvio and Tonale has disappeared. A pity, as it was an interesting reminder of Italian sports cars. Unlike the Jeep Avenger and Fiat 600 cousins, the central touchscreen appears to be integrated in the same way as on the Giulia and Stelvio. The instrument cluster also follows Alfa Romeo design cues, as on previous models. All this looks promising, except perhaps for the door trim, which seems rather basic.

    • Based on a PSA platform, the interior reveals a host of original PSA controls (switches, door handles, glovebox, etc.). So 99% chance of a puretech under the hood. After that, whether it's an FCA or PSA engine, if it's to put 110hp in it, there's no point. You might as well get a 240hp electric car, which will be announced in the near future.

The speedometer block is nice and stays in the Alfa spirit. What scares me, however, is the rectangle inside. I hope it won't be a vulgar LDC panel set in the middle with black edges that doesn't fill out or hug the curves of the block.

  1. If it's authentic, there's nothing wrong.
Absence of the ignition button on the steering wheel, Peugeot controls, rectangular instrument screen, removal of the magnificent aluminum steering wheel paddles in favor of basic ones, DNA selector that seems to have been replaced by a simple button, hideous rectangular air vents above the screen, door panels that look very down-market, not to mention the magnificent steering wheel of the Giulia, Stelvio and Tonale that has been replaced by a steering wheel from PSA...

In short, the Milano will clearly not be an Alfa, even if it will carry the logo.

    • if I understand your reasoning, it's all throw-away! you shouldn't exaggerate, and Peugeot isn't all throw-away! When you know where Alfa comes from, they can say thank you to Peugeot!

      • I don't think Alfa can thank Peugeot, because when you see the descent into hell, you can tell that Alfa is going to make dung compared to the Giulia, the Stelvio or the 4C now. It's not thank you Peugeot, it's get the hell out of Peugeot.

      • Alfa interiors to date are clearly not without their faults. But you get the feeling that there's a soul, an authenticity, a real desire to do something different.
Here, from these 3D renderings, I get the impression that we've lost all that. Above all, there are far too many Peugeot elements.
So it's true that these very rough, all-gray renderings don't really show things off at all. We'll have to wait and see the real thing. But I'm really afraid we're losing the Alfa soul. In my opinion, the Tonale's interior is already quite a step down from that of the Giulia and Stelvio. I'm afraid it's going to go down another notch.

The fact remains that this model will be in the B segment, so it's clearly not here that Alfa's know-how will come to the fore. There are obviously major budgetary constraints, which mean we have to rationalize. But at the same time, we mustn't forget that the electric model will have an asking price of between €40,000 and €45,000.

On the other hand, I'm really looking forward to the future Stelvio and Giulia.

        • When you look at the Giulia and Stelvio, not only are they flawless, but they also have a warmer, sportier interior than any of the competition, and even Lexus can't do better.

    • if I understand your reasoning, it's all throw-away! you shouldn't exaggerate, and Peugeot isn't all throw-away! When you know where Alfa comes from, they can thank Peugeot! Not everything is perfect, but the main thing is to save the brand by finding customers elsewhere.....according to purists, BMW has lost its soul by offering front-wheel drive, yet the brand has never sold so many cars......

  2. Yes indeed, with Firefly engines! Especially since they power the Peugeot 208 and Citroën C3 in Brazil.
And also with the Uconnect system, not the 208's.

  3. Engine-wise, we'll have to make do... in any case, it's the same as the competition.
After the design...well...an SUV...in the spirit of the times.
But how is Alfa going to stand out from its many competitors? With a simple logo that appeals only to fans of the brand? No easy task...

My strategy? Personally, I don't understand why carmakers are going all electric. 2035 is 11 years away!
As CEO of Alfa, I would have developed two ranges: ultra-expensive cars (stradale type) for the brand image and which sell like hotcakes. And a range of "normal" petrol cars (140 hp - 160 hp) with a very Italian retro design, and I'd have told my dealers to offer my customers the Co2 malus (€500-€800 discount).

Personally, Alfa is offering me a miniature 160 hp petrol Stradale in the 25-28K range, and I'm buying it!

  4. In short, it's a total disaster. We're repeating the same mistakes that Fiat made, whether for Lancia or Alfa. With FCA, Alfa had recovered its DNA and put Lancia in a position that was not at all to its advantage, but now we're wiping the slate clean and going right back to where we started!

    • but no! Marchionne has done a lot of damage! mtn Stellantis is trying to turn around the Italian brands, then maybe we'll get the cream!

      • No, no, no! Stellantis can't do anything!
        Marchionne did:
a coherent range for Fiat with the 500, Panda and Tipo, as well as the 124, and the same for Abarth.
reference products with the Giulia, Stelvio and 4C!
Marchionne has created a real range for Maserati and Stellantis is incapable of renewing it or following the previous product plan!

PSA is incapable of selling outside Europe, incapable of having reliable engines, incapable of selling products outside city cars and compacts, DS has been a total fiasco since its creation.... In short, in Stellantis the one who saves rather than the other, it's clear that in terms of sales, reliability and cash flow, FCA is more profitable.

So thank you, FCA, for agreeing to the merger with PSA to save the French soldier from a Chinese takeover bid.

      • Marchionne certainly made mistakes by not renewing the Alfa Romeo range sufficiently, but he respected the brand's DNA. With him, the Giulia and Stelvio were born, with exemplary roadholding that outstrips the competition.
With Tavares and Imparato, it's highly doubtful that the Italian brands will retain their distinctive character.

        • Marchionne didn't have time to renew the Alfa range because he died before. He didn't have the intelligence to bring out a station wagon on the Giulia or to launch the Alfieri, but for the rest it's been a faultless year, except for Lancia.
          When you compare:
-Alfa Giulia & Stelvio, a benchmark but a sales failure.
-Peugeot 407, 408, 508 and 5098 not referenced and a failure in terms of sales.
          -Citroën C6, C4 & X, C5 & X no reference and a failure in terms of sales.
          DS4, DS7 & DS9 non-reference and a failure in terms of sales.
So who has the most failures between PSA and FCA?

  5. A dashboard that's not too bad, in the Alfa Romeo taste, to make people forget the Milano's exterior design, and still the same electric motor seen everywhere at Stellantis, not to mention the ridiculous and distressing PureTech.

  6. I'm sorry, but I wouldn't call it promising! I find it plain and it has nothing of an Alfa about it, you can't even recognize the interior of an Alfa! It's too close to a 600, and the steering wheel is distressingly banal. Not to mention the fact that the exterior design is also extremely disappointing.
And last but not least, at Stellantis, they have a problem with the auto hold that they don't offer on any of their models???

  7. I have my doubts about these 3D models. Look closely at the steering wheel. The controls on the left are totally symmetrical to those on the right.

Perhaps these are working renderings that don't necessarily represent the final shape. Or maybe there's nothing original from Alfa, but someone had fun modelling it from the various things they've heard left and right.

  8. Thank you, it's clear to many of us that we'll be sticking with the Giulia, Stelvio and 4C as the testament to the end of Alfa Romeo's life. In a way, we couldn't have done better, given that we've reached the holy grail. The only thing missing is a Duetto with the 1.75 TBi on the MX5 RF.

  9. Images are circulating of the Milano in the streets of Balocco, with the same camouflage, and with a dual exhaust system at the rear.
If it's just a matter of putting the PureTech 100hp or 136hp in, the brand will be finished. A PureTech in an Alfa Romeo has its limits.
In that case, as a mover, you might as well buy a 208 or 2008.
