Tension rises yet another notch at the Mirafiori plant in Stellantiswhere a further interruption in production has been announced, from Monday April 22 to Monday May 6. This decision affects production lines for the electric Fiat 500 and Maserati models, exacerbating frustrations among workers already affected by short-time working measures.

Sara Rinaudo, territorial secretary of Fismic Confsal, expressed general dissatisfaction: "This new interruption is a cold shower for all Mirafiori employees. It proves that our demonstration on April 12 was a real cry of alarm, not an unfounded one. Mirafiori suffers from constant stagnation and uncertainty, which weighs heavily on its employees. A new production model must be put in place immediately to save the site.

In addition to these difficulties, Fismic Confsal General Secretary Roberto Di Maulo criticizes delays in implementing announced tax incentiveswhich he attributes to clumsy statements made by Minister Urso last November. "There's nothing worse than announcing incentives to buy cars that don't materialize, thus paralyzing purchases," says Di Maulo.

Despite these challenges, Stellantis has not been idle. The company recently announced an investment of 100 million euros intended for improve the electric Fiat 500 and strengthen its competitiveness on the market. In addition, management has yet to make a decision concerning the hybrid thermal modelThe future of this product line remains uncertain.

Roberto Di Maulo also criticized the Meloni government for its lack of vision in industrial policy, highlighting the consequences of bureaucratic decisions on sales of electric cars and other vehicles. He calls for concrete action to support national production and employment, especially for young people in the manufacturing sector, criticizing the blockages in the renewal of expansion contracts initiated by Minister Calderone, which has also frozen youth hiring. " Instead of thinking of ridiculous campaigns against the names of the new Alfa cars, Minister Urso should think of streamlining the bureaucratic machine that is blocking sales of electric cars. and much more besides.

  1. They would do well to repatriate the Alfa Junior/Milano to Turin, that would solve a lot of problems (even if I doubt very much the success of the model, I hope I'm wrong). After that, what are the consequences for the launch delay, production costs and therefore margins?

  2. FCA should not have joined the Stellantis group
Since then, it's been all nonsense.
Thanks to a fool who earns 100,000 euros a day

  3. We know exactly how to solve the problem: offer a new-generation Fiat 500 as a hybrid, because there isn't enough demand for electric models. Only offering electric cars doesn't work, you can't force buyers.

  4. The former management had an industrial project that was very good for Alfa: a brand-new factory in Cassino near Rome, billions invested in a formidable chassis called "giorgio", adaptable and shared with Maserati, 100% Italian engines, including one from Ferrari (AlfaQV), a return to F1 for the sporting image. Maserari had managed to go from 5k units to 50k/year in just a few years, and all the FCA brands had landed in North America... an ambitious plan that made sense.

  5. Today's comments make me happy, and sad at the same time. From the start, I've been shouting and screaming that Tavares was going to do some damage at FCA... Results: Alfa Romeo's projects no longer stand up, Junior is denounced in almost all the comments. FCA is going to foot the bill for the Puretech, as well as for the too-quick solution of replacing belts with chains. Maserati falls, Lancia is dead. The 500, planned with both engines, is stagnating, because it failed to follow the original plan...
Factories in disarray, others under construction (Algeria?? )when all that was needed was to modernize the existing ones, unemployment,conflicts.....
Here's the result of..... Stellantis, after ??? Only three years!!!😥

  6. We know how to make low-polluting internal combustion engines, so why try to go all-electric, with all that that entails in terms of open-pit mines (for battery production), and a lot of acid to recycle? For me, we're heading for an ecological disaster.
