Surprisingly, the second quarter of 2021, although not exceptional, is far from being bad. And it's no thanks to France because, according to CCFA registration figures, only 42 Maseratis have been registered since the beginning of 2021.

It's no thanks to the Maserati MC20 either, as it's a niche model with orders starting in September 2020.

According to Maserati, this is thanks to an overall increase in all markets, including China. Another example, Italy, which is a good customer of the brand, went from 895 sales in the first half of 2021 vs 552 in the same period last year.

Maserati could thus do slightly better in 2021 than in 2019, even if it is still far from the objectives, thanks to the Ghibli and Levante hybrid, the first deliveries of the MC20 in September 2021 and, finally, the marketing of the Grecale at the end of the year.

The trident brand has made a profit of 29 million euros for this first half of 2021 compared to a loss of 104 million euros for the same period last year.

  1. It's better, but the challenge remains in the face of the forced electrification of the range, how will the brand maintain its identity? When I read Elkann about Ferrari, I wonder if he is aware of the stakes.

    • Clearly the future Maserati range lacks precision. As much as for Alfa Romeo we know where we are going, as much Maserati, it is the new brand of Luxury of Stellantis therefore, should it rub shoulders with Ferrari / Lamborghini or Porsche? That's the question. Another point of interest, the platforms. It is clear that Stellantis is betting on 4 platforms for all the models of the group's brands. What about the MC20, whose platform is tailor-made? What about forced electrification?
We'll let them launch the Grecale, the electric MC20 and the new GranTurismo and after 2023, we'll see what they do with the Maserati range.

      • Yes, Porsche has a very efficient/cool side while Maserati is more in the emotional and a bit extravagant, like Lambo with its atmospheric cars, I wonder how enthusiasts will receive electrification and if these brands will manage to keep a differentiating factor. We will be in the luxury business, with the latest technologies and a very good platform, but is that enough? Just like for Bugatti, by the way. On the other hand, for Lancia there is a boulevard...

  2. I see a bright future for this brand! Whatever the motorization! This brand gives off something that Porsche for example does not have! I even dare to say that Bentley does less well!
