This one-of-a-kind Lancia Delta turns heads with the signature of a two-time world champion on its hood

A few months ago, A spectacular Eccentrica V12 had turned heads at a car show in Milan. This time, at the same event organized by The folks at Piazza Affari, another Italian car has managed to turn heads. And it's not a modern supercar, but a Lancia Delta with a particularly spectacular presentation.

Yellow, decked out in Martini Racing colors and fitted with matching rims, this Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. On its windshield, you can read «Martini Racing,» as well as «GM Gomme Mauro Team.» The car actually belongs to Mauro Gomme, an Italian company that specializes, among other things, in tire repair and replacement.

A Delta that looks like it came straight out of a rally stage

You only have to look at the photos to understand why the car attracted onlookers. Its yellow body features the famous red and blue Martini Racing stripes, while a host of historic logos adorn the body: Pirelli, Magneti Marelli, Weber, Selenia, and Garrett Turbo.

At the rear, the imposing spoiler bearing the «Martini Racing» inscription completes a build that fully embraces its rally-inspired design. The livery, however, hasn’t remained static. An older photo of this same car on the owner’s Instagram account shows it in a noticeably different configuration, particularly in terms of the body colors and some of the sponsors. It therefore appears to have evolved over time.

This Delta is obviously not a standard production model. The Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione, which went on sale in 1991, already stood out with its flared fenders, new hood, additional air intakes, and rear spoiler. Its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine produced 205 ch at the time.

Miki Biasion's signature on the hood

But the detail that makes this car even more interesting is located just a few centimeters from the headlights. On the hood is a signature: that of Miki Biasion. The name is obviously no small matter when it comes to a Lancia Delta. The Italian driver is one of the figures inextricably linked to the brand’s history in rallying. In particular, he won two World Rally Championship titles with Lancia, in 1988 and 1989. A particularly symbolic design on a Delta featuring the Martini Racing colors.

A Lancia you won't find anywhere else

That’s ultimately what makes this kind of gathering so charming. Alongside Ferraris and Porsches—sometimes produced in the hundreds of thousands—there are customized cars with much less well-known histories. This yellow Lancia Delta is a perfect example. Right there in the streets of Milan, that was all it took to make this Lancia Delta the star of the gathering.
