That is precisely the philosophy of Maturo Competition Cars, which has just announced the delivery of a new Lancia Delta Stradale Built entirely according to the owner’s specifications. Finished in an elegant metallic green, this one-of-a-kind creation perfectly exemplifies the Dutch tuner’s artisanal approach, with each vehicle designed as a bespoke piece.
On Instagram, Maturo sums up his approach in a few words: «Every Maturo is a reflection of its owner.» Please understand that no specific design is required, and no catalog dictates the combinations of colors or materials. Every detail is chosen in consultation with the client before being handcrafted.
A Delta Integrale reimagined down to the finest detail
Based on the legendary Lancia Delta HF Integrale, Maturo’s Stradale is more than just a restoration. The specialist explains that he developed a car inspired by the Group A Delta from the World Rally Championship, while addressing the technical weaknesses and design flaws of the 1990s models.
The chassis is completely disassembled, restored, and then reinforced with more than 250 additional welds and the installation of a custom roll bar, improving both rigidity and safety. The steel body has been replaced with panels made entirely of carbon fiber, resulting in a weight reduction of approximately 50 kg while eliminating the corrosion issues typical of the original Delta models.
Under the hood, the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine has been completely rebuilt to Group A specifications, featuring a carbon fiber intake, an enlarged intercooler, a rebuilt Garrett turbocharger, a modern electronic control unit, and a completely new wiring harness. The result is impressive: 400 ch and 540 Nm of torque, delivered to all four wheels via a specially redesigned five-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differentials directly inspired by rally cars.
A unique configuration
The model on display today immediately stands out for its dark metallic green finish, accented by thin, hand-painted stripes in the colors of the Italian flag that run along the body all the way to the rear spoiler. The black wheels conceal special Maturo-branded brake calipers, while each body panel appears to have been subtly redesigned to preserve the Delta’s iconic silhouette while giving it a more assertive look.
The interior is undoubtedly the most spectacular feature. The bucket seats, door panels, and dashboard are upholstered in bright red Alcantara, contrasting with the carbon fiber accents and numerous anodized aluminum trim pieces. The overall look evokes the race-spec Delta models while offering a very contemporary finish.
With this latest creation, Maturo demonstrates once again that its Delta Stradale is not just a restomod, but a true modern reinterpretation of one of the greatest icons of Italian motorsports. A car designed not to be just another item from a catalog, but to tell the story of the person behind the wheel.
