Along with the name change, the Fiat Panda will receive a major upgrade

While an announcement is expected in July 2024, for the presentation of the new Fiat Panda and also the transforming the Fiat Panda into a Fiat Pandinanew information suggests that the latter will receive welcome technological updatesThis is particularly true of driving aids.

If the first spy photos revealed by Gabetz Spy Unit suggest that, while the exterior silhouette of the new Pandina remains faithful to that of its predecessor, it's from the inside that the changes will come. For the first time, the Panda will adopt digital instrumentationto enhance the driving experience. The central dashboard should retain its 7-inch screen.

Despite the absence of major engine modifications, the Pandina will bring a further evolution with the introduction of level 2 driver assistance systems. This technological advance will enable the vehicle to accelerate, brake and maintain its trajectory autonomously, while requiring the driver to remain vigilant and ready to regain control at any moment.

The decision to continue production of the Pandina at the Stellantis plant in Pomigliano d'Arco until the end of 2026, bears witness to Fiat's commitment to maintaining the production of a low-cost Italian model. As a reminder, even if sales are declining, the Fiat Panda is produced in excess of 100,000 units every year. That's a lot for a plant that currently produces the Panda and the Alfa Romeo Tonale.

  1. Instead of level 2 autonomous driving, a more advanced 4-wheel drive system would have been welcome to counter Suzuki's growing power, I think. For example, an electronically-elevated cross-country version that could raise the vehicle several centimetres at any time, so that it could maintain its monopoly in mountainous 🏔️ or other hard-to-reach regions.

    • In my opinion, it's an evolution of the current one, given that it's a hybrid based on the old Yosilon, which I don't think should be discontinued and will be offered again in all European countries.

  2. Rather than driving aids, I'd prefer a slightly more powerful hybrid combustion engine (80/85 hp) and cruise control, equipment that contributes to a more relaxing drive and slightly reduces fuel consumption.

  3. For this Pandina, we'd like a slightly more powerful micro-hybrid combustion engine (80/85 hp) than on the current Panda (70 hp), and cruise control, which slightly reduces fuel consumption and makes driving more relaxing.
