STLA Large will offer a wider variety of body styles

As the first Italian models made in Stellantis saw the light of day: Fiat 600, Lancia Ypsilon, future Alfa Romeo Milano, many observers regretted the lack of originality in the bodywork, with too many elements shared between models. This should change with STLA platforms.

We put the question to Stellantis who confirmed that The STLA Large platform is designed and built to provide the basis for a wide variety of body styles.

The same platform will be able to offer traditional sedans, traditional SUVs, station wagons and crossovers, by adjusting the front and rear body overhang, and varying the wheelbase, overall length and overall height.

Two examples below with the American models, Jeep Wagoneer S and Dodge Charger Daytona, due to arrive on the US market at the end of 2024. Both cars are based on the STLA Large platform. The Jeep will have over 600 hp, while the Dodge will have over 900 hp.

Models to keep an eye on, but it's a good omen for the future Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio due in 2025 and 2026, and the future Maserati Levante and Quattroporte due in 2027 and 2028. And here's hoping the same goes for STLA Medium...
