The electrical future of Maserati is clearly taking shape with the recent announcement of its new product plan : the introduction of an all-electric luxury SUV now scheduled for 2027. This vehicle, destined to become the brand's flagship, also confirms Maserati's commitment to the electrification of its range.

Behind the scenes at Maserati, electrification plans are taking shape with a new E-segment SUV, a vehicle that promises to affirm Maserati's concept of luxury. This 100 % electric SUV, which will probably be called the "Levante", will join the brand's other electric models, including the Grecale Folgore and GranTurismo Folgore, not to mention an electric version of the MC20 planned for 2025.

Maserati's electric SUV is positioned to compete with market giants such as the Mercedes EQS SUV, the future electric Range Rover and the future electric Porsche Cayenne due in 2026.

Under the hood, so to speak, this luxury SUV will be based on the new STLA Large platform from Stellantis. This modern technical base, in 800V architecture, is designed to maximize the efficiency and range of electric vehicles, from up to 800 km thanks to a battery capacity of up to 118 kWh. Not to mention the possibility of acceleration from 0 to 100 in about 2 seconds. Of course, these figures may vary according to various factors, but they should place Maserati's SUV among the most competitive in its segment.

The brand has the onerous task of establishing itself as the symbol of electric luxury within the Stellantis Group. This positioning will translate into a distinctive design, unique driving sensations and the integration of advanced technologies that reflect Maserati's luxury identity. Before concluding, let's recall that this new Levante should have been released before 2025, but postponed by 2 years. Perhaps to give the electric Alfa Romeo Stelvio time to test the market?

  1. As a reminder, the 800 km range announced by Stellantis applies to sedans. Without even questioning the Group's official statement, an E-segment SUV will inevitably have a shorter range.

  2. By definition, to occupy the luxury segment, you need specific mechanical components. Similarly, "cost killers" run the risk of killing the product...

    • Yes, because when it comes to luxury, you don't need to focus on the quality of the products, but rather make a "real" list of options that can be customized as you wish, and don't hesitate to set a substantial base price. You really need a Nettuno 🔱 hybrid for that.
