While Alfa Romeo and Fiat's figures are on the up after having been at their lowest in 2022, the brand Maserati is the exception... but unfortunately not in a good way. The trident brand is paying the price for France's ecological malus, with sales down in 2023...
Drum roll, Maserati registered 187 cars in France in 2023... Down 12 % on 2022, when the brand registered 213 cars. This is still better than 2020 and 2021, although we can see that the Grecale SUV will not really have had a positive effect on sales, unlike the Levante when it was launched in 2016. Let's not talk about the new Granturismo, which is a flop (in France) because of its €60,000 malus.
Year | Registrations Maserati France |
---|---|
2023 | 187 |
2022 | 213 |
2021 | 148 |
2020 | 135 |
2019 | 420 |
2018 | 606 |
2017 | 711 |
2016 | 732 |
We repeat this in almost every article, Maserati's current positioning makes it a special case. It's the Stellantis group's only luxury brand, and in absolute terms it outsells Lamborghini and Ferrari, for example. But where does the trident brand want to go?
It would be important for Maserati to clearly explain its future positioning, both in terms of volume and range. Quattroporte discontinued ? Is the brand satisfied with fewer sales, but if so, what about the current dealer network? Will the brand be doing 100 % electrics with Folgore? If so, it'll be the only one, and if not, the Nettuno V6, though high-performance, is sorely lacking in PHEV technology.
Stellantis is due to hold an investor event in June 2024, so let's hope some reassuring announcements will be made. And in February 2024 we'll know the sales figures for 2023 worldwide.
I find the Maserati brand very good
It's a shame because the quartoporte was the best-selling model.
Bonjour a Tous et a Toutes
To date, having abandoned Porsche Mercedes Jaguar for a QUATTROPORTE
I am happy to have it but rather very disappointed with the firm MASERATI SAV level.
So the next one will be one of the 3 mentioned above but never again MASERATI
Damage !!!!!!!!!!
there are some very good specialist garages in france that don't require a MASERATI dealership.
already cheaper and more professional
