Fiat recently opened an assembly plant in Tafraoui, near Oran in Algeria.to produce the older generation of Fiat combustion-powered vehicles, previously manufactured at Tychy in Poland for the European market. The plant also produces the Fiat Doblo. At a press conference in December 2023, Fiat announced an ambitious production target: reaching 40,000 vehicles a year by the end of 2024, and 90,000 units per year by the end of 2026with the eventual production of four Fiat models.

These four models include the Fiat 500 thermal hybrid and the Fiat Doblo. One of the new future models, based on the Smart Car platform, will also be part of this production run. This model is part of Fiat's overall project to expand its international footprint and strengthen its presence in the Algerian market.

It should be noted that the electric Fiat 500 and the future Fiat 500 ibrida will continue to be produced in Italy, at the Mirafiori plant. The Fiat 600, meanwhile, is made in Tychy, Poland, and the new Grande Panda is produced in Serbia.

The decision to produce one of the new models in Algeria reflects Fiat's strategy of diversifying its production sites and moving closer to its key markets. This will not only reduce production costs, but also enable us to respond more rapidly to local demand.

  1. The capitalist novlangue... what can't we wait to justify relocations and the abandonment of the Italian proletariat?

Especially as Tavares himself has admitted, the manufacture of a vehicle represents only 10% of its price.

  2. To tell you that it's a large workshop in Oran, not a factory, I don't know how Stelantis manages this workshop, which has been in degraded mode since it opened, because the operators are complaining about the lack of essential assembly resources.
    Total anarchy and unprofessionalism
Algerians in the blood regionalism knowledge is closer to the responsible
