This Ferrari miniature took 300 hours to build... so much so that it's impossible to tell it from the real thing.

Almost a year ago, the Ferrari Daytona SP3 «Tailor Made #600» turned the world of car collecting on its head. Unveiled at the exclusive Monterey Car Week 2025, this unique version, unofficially christened «599+1», was unlike any other. Ferrari modern. Its two-tone livery blending exposed carbon fiber and Giallo Modena, with a huge Ferrari logo running through it, broke with almost a century of styling tradition. Under the hood, however, there was nothing revolutionary in spirit: a 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12 developing 840 hp, a direct tribute to the legendary prototypes of the 1960s.

But it's not just for its design and performance that this Daytona SP3 has become legendary.

A $26 million auction that left a lasting impression

At its auction, orchestrated by RM Sotheby's, the supercar literally electrified the room. In the space of a few moments, bids soared. to $26 million. A record amount for a modern Ferrari, driven by both the uniqueness of the model and its charitable dimension. The entire sum was donated to the Ferrari Foundation and Save the Children, in particular to fund educational projects in the USA.

On that day, the Daytona SP3 was no longer just a car: it became a symbol, at the crossroads of luxury, automotive passion and commitment.

A work of art... now reproduced at 1:8 scale

Almost a year later, this unique timepiece is enjoying a new, more accessible life... at least in appearance. The renowned British workshop Amalgam Collection has decided to reproduce this Daytona SP3 «Tailor Made #600» in 1:8 scale.

And the result is stunning. Without a visual cue, it becomes almost impossible to distinguish the scale model from the real car. Every detail has been reproduced with extreme precision, using original CAD data supplied by Ferrari, as well as real paint and material codes.

It takes over 300 hours to assemble each model, after more than 3,000 hours of upstream development. A debauchery of know-how that brings this miniature closer to a work of art than to a simple collector's item.

An exclusivity even rarer than the car itself

If the real Daytona SP3 was already exceptional, with only 599 units produced, this miniature version takes the notion of exclusivity even further. Only 9 units will be produced worldwide.

Each model measures over 58 cm in length and is hand-assembled by a small team of highly skilled craftsmen. The prototype has even been validated by Ferrari engineers and designers to guarantee absolute fidelity. A level of demand rarely reached, even in the highly exclusive world of high-end scale models.

Diecast Ferrari Daytona SP3

Obviously, such a piece couldn't be accessible to everyone. Priced at 19,495 euros, this miniature Daytona SP3 remains beyond the reach of the general public. This may seem an inordinate price for a reproduction... but it's almost coherent given its exclusivity, level of detail and the history of the original model.
