Just a few months ago, seeing a Ferrari Daytona SP3 Breaking the 5 million mark at auction was already impressive enough. Now we’ll have to seriously reevaluate the value of this Italian hypercar. In Monterey, a 2023 model was just sold by RM Sotheby’s for $17.825 million. That’s a staggering amount for a car that cost around 2 million euros when new.
This Daytona SP3, chassis number 297567, was part of the collection The Driver's Philosophy. Manufactured in July 2023 and delivered to its first owner in January 2024, it had only 227 miles—about 365 km—on the odometer when it was put up for sale. Only two owners have driven it.
A spectacular Daytona SP3… but not one of a kind
Its design certainly doesn't go unnoticed. The body is painted in Triple-Layer Yellow, featuring Nero stripes accompanied by a pattern inspired by the Italian flag. Inside, black is the dominant color, accented by numerous touches of yellow.
The car also came with several desirable options: a carbon-fiber roof and lower body panels, painted Scuderia badges, matte black wheels, gloss black brake calipers, and a system to raise the suspension. But that is precisely what makes the auction result particularly interesting: as desirable as it may be, this Daytona SP3 remains one of the 599 units originally intended for customers. It lacks the truly unique character of the famous «599+1» sold a year earlier.
From $6.5 million to $17.8 million
A comparison with previous public auctions really brings home the significance of this result. On October 11, 2025, a red 2024 Daytona SP3 with approximately 2,000 km on the odometer was sold at auction in Zurich for 5,348,750 Swiss francs, or $6.5 million and 5.6 million euros.
Ten months later, this yellow SP3 has thus reached $17.825 million. The amount paid is nearly three times higher than the price achieved at the Swiss auction. And, most importantly, this time it is neither a charity auction nor a car created specifically for the occasion.
As a reminder, one year ago, in August 2025, the Daytona SP3 «599+1» had reached the incredible sum of $26 million in Monterey. But this car was a very special case. Designed by Ferrari Built as a one-of-a-kind, limited-edition model, with its spectacular bodywork combining exposed carbon fiber and Giallo Modena, it was sold to benefit the Ferrari Foundation and Save the Children. At the time, its price could therefore be partly explained by its exceptional status and the philanthropic nature of the sale.
The results of this new SP3 somewhat change the market outlook. $17.825 million for a “standard” model from the series—even one that’s superbly configured and nearly new—is a considerable sum. By way of comparison, the value of a Ferrari F40 is currently between 3 and 5 million $, and for a Ferrari F50 There are between 5 and 9 million $.
With only 599 customer units produced, its naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine producing 840 ch, its lack of hybrid technology, and its design inspired by Ferrari prototypes from the 1960s, the Daytona SP3 already seems to be regarded as a major collector’s item. At this rate, one question becomes inevitable: how much could a Daytona SP3 command in a truly extraordinary configuration?
