The record price for a Ferrari F50 has just been shattered for the third time in just one year

We're continuing the record-breaking streak at Ferrari. Following spectacular sales of Maranello's most exclusive models, it is now the Ferrari F50 which has just set a new benchmark. And once again, the scene takes place in Monterey.

On August 15, 2026, at the Mecum auction held during Monterey Car Week, a yellow 1996 Ferrari F50 sold for $14,575,000. This exceptional result shatters the model’s previous record and confirms the incredible surge in its value over the past year.

Two months ago, we were wondering if she could break the record

We previously introduced this F50 to you as early as last June with one question: Could it outperform the models that sold for over 9 or even 12 million dollars? We now know the answer.

Chassis No. 106690, this F50 is the 239th of 349 units produced. Its distinctive feature is immediately apparent: its Giallo Modena body color, a configuration found on only 31 F50s worldwide. Delivered new in Switzerland, it has only 7,248 km on the odometer. It also comes with Ferrari Classiche certification and its Red Book, and retains a particularly comprehensive set of accessories: Schedoni luggage, tools, manuals, a flight case for the roof, and even a remarkable pair of vintage TOD’S Ferrari F50 shoes.

These arguments were apparently enough to spark a full-blown battle among collectors and drive the price up to $14.575 million.

From $9.2 million to $14.5 million in just one year

The outcome takes on a whole new dimension when you look at what has happened since Monterey Car Week 2025. At the time, the yellow F50 that once belonged to Ralph Lauren had caused a sensation by reaching $9.245 million. In January 2026, a red F50 with just 252 miles on the odometer had already broken that record at Mecum in Kissimmee with $12.21 million.

One might have wondered just how far the market could go. The answer comes from Monterey: another $2.365 million higher. In just twelve months, the auction record for an F50 has thus risen from $9.245 million to $14.575 million. By way of comparison, just a few years ago, in 2021, sales were hovering around $4 million.

Another F50 surpasses 12 million on the same day

And what makes this day—August 15, 2026—even more impressive is that this is not an isolated result. At the same time in Monterey, RM Sotheby’s was offering another F50, this time in red. This 1995 model, one of 55 intended for the U.S. market, had 6,196 miles on the odometer and a particularly high-profile provenance: Mike Tyson had been its first owner.

Certified by Ferrari Classiche and accompanied by, among other items, its luggage, its hardtop, and even a pair of Everlast gloves autographed by the former world champion, it sold for $12,105,000.

Two Ferrari F50s sold on the same day, in the same city, for more than $12 million each: it’s hard to imagine a better demonstration of the new level this model has reached. With its $14.575 million price tag, the F50 Giallo Modena has thus become the new benchmark. And after such a surge in value in just one year, one question already arises: where will the Ferrari F50’s value stop rising? The year 2026 isn’t over yet…
