The Lancia Ypsilon (2003-2011), also known as the Ypsilon I, is the second modern generation of the Italian city car after the Y (1995-2003). Presented at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show, it continues the brand's DNA, focusing on elegance, personalization and a refined interior for the city car segment.
Based on the Fiat Punto platform, it retains a 3-door body with elegant lines and an interior that can be customized with a wide range of materials and colors. The Ypsilon is aimed primarily at urban customers looking for a chic little car.
Produced until 2011, it was a real success in Europe, particularly in Italy, and helped maintain Lancia's presence in the premium city car segment.

I had a Platino Blue Vivaldi Ypsilon from 2006 to 2009 as a replacement for my Alfa 147. Living in a big city at the time, and able to walk to work, I opted for a smaller car, but not one that was any less motorized.
The 1.4 95hp engine was very lively and pleasant on a daily basis, both in town and on the road.
The interior was very pleasant, entirely covered in light-colored Alcantara.
However, I had recurring air-conditioning problems that the dealer had great difficulty resolving. I had to write to Lancia France to get them to deal with the problem directly. In my opinion, the air-conditioning system was undersized and gave up the ghost whenever it got too hot.
After months of fighting, everything was finally put right.
I sold this car when I moved to another region, as I was driving much more than before, and opted for a diesel vehicle (1 Alfa 159 JTD 120).
