It’s not uncommon to see Ferraris, Lamborghinis, or McLarens on the streets of Saint-Tropez in the summer. But spotting a Bertone GB110 is a real treat. Several photos posted on social media and shared by the brand show the Italian hypercar parked in the famous seaside resort on the French Riviera, immediately catching the eye of passersby. And for good reason: this car is one of the most exclusive models on the market today. With only 33 units produced worldwide, the GB110 also marks the return of a legendary name in Italian automotive history.

Bertone's Grand Comeback with a Hypercar Boasting Over 1,100 chevaux
Founded in 1912 in Turin by Giovanni Bertone, Carrozzeria Bertone has written some of the most glorious chapters in the history of Italian automotive design. The coachbuilder has created models that have become legendary for Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Ferrari, Lancia, and Lamborghini. Renowned designers such as Marcello Gandini and Giorgetto Giugiaro also built their reputations at the company.
After some difficult years, Bertone However, it had disappeared in 2014 following its bankruptcy. Its revival came thanks to brothers Jean-Franck and Mauro Ricci, who head the Akka Technologies group and relaunched the brand with a clear ambition: to no longer be just a design studio, but to become a true automaker. The GB110 is thus the first model of this new era. Its name pays tribute to Giovanni Bertone and celebrates the company’s 110th anniversary.

Hidden beneath its spectacular bodywork is a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V10 engine producing 1,124 chevaux and 1,100 Nm of torque. These figures immediately place the GB110 among the very exclusive circle of the world’s highest-performance hypercars. Bertone claims a 0 to 300 km/h time of just 12.9 seconds, a performance that illustrates this machine’s potential. While the manufacturer remains tight-lipped about many technical details, it is believed that its base could be derived from a German platform similar to that of the Audi R8 or Lamborghini Huracán, though no official confirmation has been provided.
Design inspired by Bertone's greatest concepts
At first glance, the GB110’s proportions are reminiscent of certain modern Italian supercars. Yet its design draws directly from Bertone’s heritage. The teams led by Giovanni Sapio have notably reinterpreted several iconic elements from the brand’s history. There are references to the legendary Lancia Stratos Zero, particularly in the shape of the flanks and the side air intakes, while certain details evoke the famous Alfa Romeo BAT concepts.

The silhouette thus blends the flowing lines of the 1950s with the more angular forms inspired by the 1970s. The result is a car that is both futuristic and instantly recognizable. The color scheme spotted in Saint-Tropez—which combines a white body with contrasting black accents—particularly highlights the car’s sculpted lines.

Spotting a Bertone GB110 on the street is a rare treat. Production is strictly limited to 33 units worldwide, making it a far more exclusive model than most of today’s hypercars. Following a sighting at the Monaco Grand Prix a few weeks ago, this latest appearance in Saint-Tropez shows that some of these cars are now being driven in real-world conditions and not just at private events or official unveilings. For the car enthusiasts present at the scene, this was undoubtedly one of the most exceptional automotive encounters of the summer.
