The future electric Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio to take part in a race

The prestigious 1000 Miglia race was the subject of a long-awaited announcement by car enthusiasts: the future Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio, 100 % electric cars, could soon be joining the competition. On the opening day of the event, Jean-Philippe Imparato, CEO ofAlfa Romeoshared his vision for these exceptional models, answering questions from Quattroruote.

For Imparato, the 1000 Miglia is more than just a race. "It's a real marvel! When you see fifty Alfa Romeo cars surrounded by so many enthusiasts... For me, it's a very important moment, even on a personal level," he declared. The presence of the brand's iconic vehicles at the Museo di Arese underlines the importance of this event for Alfa Romeo, and reinforces the links between the brand's history and its future.

The Junior, a long-awaited model

Among the cars present, the new Junior has attracted attention as a support vehicle. Imparato spoke of the expectations surrounding this model, saying, "It's true that my job is to produce a lot of cars, but when I see the number of Giulietta and Mito on the road, or when people have been asking me for months 'when can we see it?', I realize that we'll be doing something interesting. I'm not too worried about volumes, but there's no doubt that the Junior is a very important car for Alfa Romeo in terms of brand value."

Alfa Romeo's commitment to the 1000 Miglia Green race

For some years now, the 1000 Miglia Green, an ecological version of the famous race, has also been attracting attention. Jean-Philippe Imparato was asked about Alfa Romeo's participation. He replied enthusiastically: "I'm committed here and now, with you. If the 1000 Miglia Green continues, we'll be coming with the new electric Stelvio and Giulia, perhaps in 1000hp Quadrifoglio versions, so we can have a bit of fun too... "

As a reminder, the future electric Giulia and Stelvio will be built on the STLA Large platform and are due to be introduced in 2025 and 2026 respectively. These models, Quadrifoglio, promise 1000 hp and a 0 to 100 in 2 sec.

And for those interested, it was a Tesla Y that won the 1000 Miglia Green, ahead of a Polestar 2 and a Mustang Mach-E, which rounded off the podium. The only Italian was an Abarth 500, which finished 11th.

  1. 1000 hp, Imparato offers cars to make kekes. Except that this avalanche of horsepower has nothing to do with driving pleasure.
Didn't anyone tell him that the Quadrifoglio or GTA models with 510, 520, or 540 hp are 100 times better?
How can Alfa Romeo manage with Tavares or Imparato, who understand nothing about cars or Alfa Romeo?
