Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino, Jessica Alba… the cast of the Maserati movie has finally unveiled its trailer

More than two years after the first reports about the project, the film chronicling the family's history Maserati is finally revealed in images. The first trailer for Maserati: The Brothers has just been released by The Andrea Iervolino Company. It offers a sneak peek at a particularly ambitious biopic, starring Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino, Andy Garcia, Jessica Alba, Michele Morrone, and Salvatore Esposito, among others.

We mentioned this for the first time this project in May 2024, even though the film was still supposed to chronicle Maserati's early years under the title Maserati: A Racing Life. In February 2025, the filming of what is now called Maserati: The Brothers had provided a lot more insight into its impressive cast. This time, the film is taking shape.

Brothers, cars, and a huge ambition

The trailer takes us back to the early decades of the Maserati story, with Michele Morrone as Alfieri Maserati, Salvatore Esposito as Bindo, Matteo Bassi as Ettore, Leo Ferrari as Ernesto, and Lorenzo de Moor as Carlo.

«We’re building the greatest engine ever designed,» the trailer declares, before referring to an ambition that became a reality: making Maserati the first Italian brand to win the Indianapolis 500. This feat was accomplished with the Maserati 8CTF in 1939 and repeated in 1940.

But Maserati: The Brothers doesn't seem to want to limit itself to cars and racing. The footage also highlights the dreams, rivalries, financial struggles, and—above all—the family ties behind the founding of the Trident automaker. «The company will save the family,» is one of the lines heard in this first preview.

Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino, Jessica Alba… an impressive cast

The cast has expanded even further since our last update. Anthony Hopkins plays Luca Antonelli, while Al Pacino plays Vincenzo Vaccaro. Andy Garcia appears as Mr. Rossini, and Jessica Alba as Sandra.

The trailer alternates between family scenes, auto repair shops, tense meetings, and race sequences. It offers a glimpse of an epic historical drama that aims to tell the story of how a family of enthusiasts managed, starting in 1914, to create one of the most famous names in Italian automotive history. The film is directed by Bobby Moresco, who won an Oscar for the screenplay of Crash. A name already well known to fans of car movies, since he has also directed Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend.

After Lamborghini and Ferrari, it's Maserati's turn

Behind the project is Andrea Iervolino, producer of Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend and co-producer of Ferrari by Michael Mann. After Ferruccio Lamborghini and Enzo Ferrari, the film industry is now turning its attention to a different story: that of a group of brothers who helped write the first great chapters in the history of the Italian sports car.

Released on August 26, 2026, this first trailer confirms that Maserati: The Brothers is now in post-production. However, the trailer ends without revealing a specific release date, simply stating: «Coming Soon.» After more than two years of waiting since the project was announced, we’ll have to be patient a little longer before seeing the story of the Maserati brothers on the big screen, but rumors suggest it could be in October 2026.
