One year after placing his order, Zlatan took delivery of his new 1,200 HP Ferrari… for his birthday

Exactly one year ago, Zlatan Ibrahimović celebrated his 44th birthday by unveiling what would become one of the centerpieces of his impressive collection: a Ferrari F80. Twelve months later, the gift finally became a reality. For his 45th birthday, celebrated on October 3, the former soccer player was able to take delivery of his 1,200 HP hypercar, finished in a spectacular black paint job.

A delivery that brings to a close a story that began long before the official announcement of his order—and that confirms, for yet another year, a tradition now inextricably linked to Zlatan’s birthdays: treating himself to a new Ferrari.

A year ago, Zlatan unveiled his Ferrari F80

The saga had really begun in late August 2025. Zlatan Ibrahimović had visited Ferrari at that time and had posted a photo with Flavio Manzoni, the brand's design director. In his hands: a signed sketch of the new F80.

The message accompanying the post deliberately kept the mystery alive. A few weeks later, on October 3, 2025—his 44th birthday—Zlatan put an end to the speculation. He revealed on his social media accounts an all-black Ferrari F80, accompanied by its now-traditional «Happy Birthday to Zlatan.».

At that point, however, the car wasn’t in his garage yet. Production of the F80 had only just begun, and the 799 units planned were to be assembled gradually in Maranello. It therefore took about a year before Zlatan’s hypercar was finally delivered to him.

For his 45th birthday, the gift is finally coming true

Almost exactly one year later, the F80 is finally here. This time, the new images let us see the car from several angles, with the doors open, and get a better look at the configuration chosen by the former Swedish forward.

Zlatan stayed true to the choice hinted at during his announcement: a particularly understated black body that radically transforms the F80’s appearance. The large sculpted surfaces, imposing air intakes, and numerous aerodynamic elements blend seamlessly into this dark hue. Inside, the contrast is far more striking. The yellow driver’s seat immediately catches the eye amid an otherwise predominantly black cabin.

1,200 HP

Beneath this bodywork lies, above all, the most powerful production Ferrari ever built at the time of its unveiling. For the F80, Maranello made a choice that sparked a great deal of discussion: no V12, but a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid. The F163CG engine draws directly on the experience gained with the Ferrari 499P, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Combined with three electric motors, it enables the powertrain to produce 1,200 HP, delivered to all four wheels.

With a claimed curb weight of just 1,525 kg, its performance lives up to its status: 0 to 100 km/h in 2.15 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in 5.75 seconds, and a top speed of 350 km/h. Ferrari didn’t just focus on raw power, however. The F80 was designed with aerodynamics, electrification, and racing-derived technologies in mind to carry on the legacy of the most prestigious models in the brand’s history: the 288 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo, and LaFerrari.

A Ferrari for 3.6 million euros… before options

Its exclusivity certainly lives up to the specs. The Ferrari F80 is limited to just 799 units, with production set to begin in 2025 in Maranello. Its price starts at around 3.6 million euros, not including any optional features or customizations. And simply having the necessary funds isn’t necessarily enough to secure one. As with previous limited editions from Maranello, the F80s are reserved for a clientele selected by Ferrari. With numerous Prancing Horse cars already in his garage, Zlatan Ibrahimović has long been one of the brand’s most loyal customers.

After all, this F80 is really just the latest chapter in the long story between Zlatan and Ferrari. For several years now, the Swede has regularly used his birthday as an opportunity to unveil a new car. His impressive collection includes a LaFerrari, a Monza SP2, a Daytona SP3, an 812 Competizione A, an SF90 Spider, an SF90 XX Spider, and even a Purosangue. After the F80, what else might Zlatan treat himself to for his next birthday?
