Nearly a year after we first saw the third Alfa Romeo 8C customized by Officine Fioravanti, the family has grown significantly. The Italian workshop has just unveiled its latest creation, dubbed the OF-8C M-008. As its name suggests, this is already the eighth model to pass through their hands. And this time, it’s a stunning 8C Spider that’s received the in-house treatment, featuring the one element that changes everything: a genuine manual transmission.
When we were talking about the project in September 2025, only three Alfa Romeo 8C had officially been modified. Less than a year later, the total now stands at eight units. This tiny but steady production run makes these modified 8Cs even more exclusive than the models from which they were derived.
The 8C's V8 Finally Paired with a Manual Transmission
This is probably the combination many enthusiasts have been dreaming of ever since the Alfa Romeo 8C was released. Under the hood is still the spectacular 4.7-liter naturally aspirated V8 originally from Maserati, but the original car’s six-speed automated transmission has been replaced by a six-speed manual transmission developed by Officine Fioravanti.
A transformation far more complex than simply changing the gearshift lever. The tuner explains that this transmission is the result of several years of development and hundreds of specially designed components. The goal is to give the driver a direct mechanical connection to the V8, while preserving the spirit of the 8C.
And Officine Fioravanti didn’t stop at the drivetrain. This M-008 also features a specially tuned suspension system designed to enhance precision, balance, and confidence. New ultra-lightweight forged wheels round out the technical modifications.
The eighth 8C M is a very special Spider
Fortunately, the design remains extremely close to the original. The white body is paired here with a custom-made green soft top, which hints at the interior’s particularly unique layout.
Inside, green is indeed the dominant color. Officine Fioravanti has installed its carbon-fiber monocoque seats, upholstered for the occasion in a combination of green leather and ostrich leather. In the center of the console sits, of course, the centerpiece: the spectacular manual transmission shifter and its exposed metal grille.
Above all, the M-008 allows us to gauge how far we’ve come since our previous article. Following the M-003—a coupe unveiled in September 2025—Officine Fioravanti unveiled the M-004 Spider in October, followed by the M-005 coupe later that same month. The M-007, also a coupe, debuted in March 2026, followed by this new M-008 Spider in August 2026. Details about the M-006, however, remain a mystery.
There are now eight Alfa Romeo 8C M models in total, including both coupes and Spiders. These eight cars may just make up for the main regret left by one of the Alfa Romeo The most coveted cars of the 21st century: never having been equipped, straight from the factory, with the manual transmission that their fabulous V8 deserved.
