Lamborghini Temerario: pleasant surprise for the new V8 engine

After a successful career, the Lamborghini Huracán will soon give way to its successor, the Lamborghini Temerario. The evolution towards a more ecological motorization is underway, with thehe switch from a V10 to a V8 PHEV. This new V8 hybrid is already used in the new Lamborghini Urus SE SUV. Although the farewell to the V10 may bring a pang to the heart of Lamborghini enthusiasts, the company wants to reassure them that the performance of its new V8.

While the Lamborghini Tecnica's V10 delivered 640 hp, 545 Nm and a maximum speed of 8,500 rpm, the new V8 promises even more impressive figures: 800 hp, 730 Nm and a maximum speed of 10,000 rpm! An impressive performance that should appeal to thrill-seekers.

Lamborghini's official press release details the specifications of this new engine. The future Lamborghini is codenamed 634, and will join the High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) range. This twin-turbo V8 is combined with a hybrid system comprising three electric motors and a eight-speed dual-clutch gearboxthe same as the one recently introduced on the Lamborghini Revuelto.

This engine aims to surpass the performance and driving emotions of the current Huracán range. The twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 delivers an exceptional 200 hp per liter. The maximum power delivered by the internal combustion engine will be 800 hp between 9,000 and 9,750 rpmreaching a maximum speed of 10,000 rpma figure usually reserved for racing engines, making this new V8 unique among road-going supercars.

The rear electrical system, designed for this V8, is positioned between the combustion engine and the dual-clutch gearbox. It is capable of generating high torque and power, with a maximum of 300 Nm and 110 kW (150 hp) at 3,500 rpm, while maintaining compact dimensions and low weight.

Another crucial element of the design process was to define soundto give this new engine a unique and distinctive personality, offering the driver an unrivalled driving experience. The sound characteristics of the new V8 intensify in a crescendo that, at high revs, reaches its peak in terms of volume.
