After a decade, Lamborghini is about to turn a page in its history with the replacement for one of its best-sellers, the Huracan. While its presentation is expected by the end of the year, its name has apparently just been leaked. According to a recent trademark application dated April 2, 2024, Lamborghini has officially registered the TEMERARIO name.
After the REVUELTO and its naturally-aspirated V12 engineThe TEMERARIO also marks a significant evolution under the hood. In fact, the traditional V10 engine, known for its melodious sound, is set to give way to a V8 biturbo plug-in hybrid (PHEV).
It will have the onerous task of doing as well as, or better than, the 20,000 Huracán models produced, offering at least 200 hp more power than its predecessor's 640 hp 5.2-liter V10.
The introduction of PHEV technology in the TEMERARIO demonstrates Lamborghini's determination to remain at the cutting edge of technological innovation while remaining compatible with ecological measures.
This shift to plug-in hybrids is not an isolated one. Ferrari, with its 1000hp SF90 V8 PHEV and 830hp 296 GTB and GTS V6 PHEV, has also proved that it is possible to combine high performance and ecology. Let's not forget that Lamborghini has aiming to sell more than 10,000 units a year and take on Ferrari.
In the meantime, its official presentation is scheduled for the end of the year, and its arrival on the roads in 2025. For the record, if REVUELTO meant "lively" or "restless", it means "lively" or "restless", TEMERARIO means "daredevil" or "reckless".
*even better (adverb) 😉
A curious name, a little long and tricky to pronounce after 3 glasses of Chianti 😀
