The Formula E has started! Perhaps you didn't know, and that's understandable: with no races in France, this competition gets very little coverage in our country. Which is a bit rich for a government that's betting everything on electric cars...maybe because of the Olympics?
The Italian manufacturer Maserati its second year of participationWith two drivers, German Maximilian Gunther, already present last year, and a newcomer, Indian Jehan Daruvala, who comes from Formula 2.
This year, 11 teams are taking part, including Maserati, Jaguar, Porsche, McLaren, Nissan, Cupra and DS.
After 3 races, Maserati ranks 8th in the championshipout of 11 teams. This may not seem like much, but it should be noted that of the 20 points collected by the team, all were marked by pilot Maximilian Gunther, who makes good runs in the middle of the pack.
Race | Ranking Maximilian Gunther | Ranking Jehan Daruvala | Points |
---|---|---|---|
1 - Mexico | 4 | 17 | 12 |
2 - Saudi Arabia | 7 | 20 | 6 |
3 - Saudi Arabia | 9 | DNF | 2 |
There are still 13 races to go, 3rd place on the podium is just 38 points, occupied by Porsche. Jaguar and DS are already in another league, with 78 and 47 points respectively from just 3 races. Next race on March 16, 2024 in Brazil.
For the record, since DS has been entered by Stellantis for several years, Maserati uses a DS electric motor. The chassis is supplied by Spark.
Even if they end up as FE Maserati champions, what's in it for them? Nothing, I suppose. In short, money thrown down the drain for nothing, and on top of that, there's already DS! We're walking on our heads.
Poor Maserati, reduced to making up the numbers in a bogus championship!
Yes, it hurts my heart.
