The case is still in the hands of the Italian courts
As a reminder, this Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is at the center of an investigation by the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office. Following the death of its owner, the family claims that the car was sold under intense pressure and is now contesting the legal documents that allowed for the change in ownership.
According to the Italian press, the transaction was reportedly even registered for a symbolic sum of just 10 euros, even though the car’s current value is estimated at around 30 million euros. The disappearance of the license plates is also a key element in the case. A report of loss is said to have preceded the car’s removal from Italian records and its possible transfer abroad.
How did she leave Italy?
The new lead in France now raises another issue—this time regarding cultural heritage. The family’s attorneys want to know how a car of such historical and cultural significance could have left Italy, and are asking that an investigation be conducted to determine whether the necessary authorizations for its free movement had been issued.
«If the car is indeed a cultural asset subject to protection, we need to verify what documents were used to take it out of Italy, when that happened, and under what procedures,» explain Sergio and Angelo Pisani. It is precisely to obtain these answers that they are now appealing to the Italian Minister of Culture and hope to establish contact with the French authorities.
