While the Maserati Grecale Folgore has yet to reach dealerships, its main competitor, the Porsche Macan electric, will go on sale next summer, and the first test drives carried out by the motoring press are finally showing initial technical information.
As a reminder, neither Maserati nor Porsche have revealed full technical specifications, so we'll have to rely on information gleaned by journalists during tests of the Grecale in April 2023, and the Macan in December 2023. It's as if the two brands are watching each other to see who will launch their model first... or last.

On paper, Porsche seems to offer a better spec sheet: weight, power, torque, and even recharging power. For the record, in April 2023, Maserati announced a range of up to 500 km, while Porche reported over 500 km. A war of words?
In any case, these two models are very important for both brands. While Maserati is not releasing sales figures for the Grecale, Porsche's Macan could approach 100,000 units by 2023.
However, these two models, which are not available as plug-in hybrids, are heavily impacted by the environmental impact of certain European countries. These electric versions will logically complement the internal combustion range. But will they be well received by customers? That's the biggest mystery. By way of comparison, Porsche will sell between 35,000 and 40,000 Taycans in 2023, which isn't too bad.
One thing's for sure Electric Porsche Macan to go on sale in summer 2024while we're still waiting for a date for the Grecale Folgore.
