As we announced nearly six months ago in this article, Maserati prepares a more powerful version of its MC20a GT2 homologated for the road. We now know the date of its presentation: on Friday August 16, at Monterey Car Week 2024, a renowned American automotive event. Maserati is particularly fond of this prestigious setting, having already unveiled the Maserati MCXtrema in 2023.
To maintain the suspense, the trident brand has published some teaser images of the new MC20. The photo shows a muscular design, with significantly reworked aerodynamics, notably on the hood, but also on the front bumper in the retouched photo below.
According to our exclusive information (please quote us), this MC20 will see its 10 horsepower increasefrom 630 to 640 horsepower, while still being lightened by about 56 kg. These improvements promise to further enhance the supercar's performance. The new MC20's aerodynamics have also been revised to enhance its performance on both road and track. The adjustments promise greater stability and efficiency, making this supercar a true racing beast.
As far as the name is concerned, although the term "MC20 Stradale" was floated around a few months ago, it was not chosen in the end. This new version will be positioned as an interesting alternative to the standard 630 hp MC20The MCXtrema is an ultra-high-performance 740hp version dedicated exclusively to the track, not homologated for the road, and produced in a limited edition with a price tag approaching one million euros.
