In Monaco, it's getting almost impossible to keep up with the pace of the garage at Fernando Alonso. Ferrari F40, 512 TR, LaFerrari, Pagani Zonda or even Lancia Delta HF Integrale : the two-time world champion in Formula 1 seems to take every opportunity to showcase one of the pieces from his spectacular collection. This time, it's a Lamborghini a particularly rare model that is said to have taken to the streets of the Principality: its Sián FKP 37, which is now worth nearly 3 million euros.
A new video posted on social media shows the Italian hypercar driving through Monaco. It’s hard to make out the occupants behind the windshield, but according to the person who posted the video, Fernando Alonso is reportedly behind the wheel. This seems plausible, since the Spaniard has already been spotted with that same Lamborghini in recent months.
A Lamborghini You Can't Miss
Even among the supercars that fill the streets of Monaco every day, the Sián certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. The model assigned to Fernando Alonso features a spectacular blue paint job paired with bronze-colored wheels. But this time, it wasn’t just its appearance that caught people’s attention.
The video also lets you hear its V12 roar through the streets of the Principality. At low speeds, the engine remains relatively quiet, but it changes completely as the RPMs rise. As it passes through a tunnel, the Lamborghini even lets out a particularly brutal roar.
Unveiled in September 2019, the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 marked a major turning point for the Italian automaker. Based on the Aventador, it became Lamborghini’s first production hybrid. Its naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine produces 785 ch and is assisted by a small 48-volt electric motor delivering 34 ch. The combined output thus reaches 819 ch. Notably, Lamborghini opted for an innovative technical solution by using a supercapacitor instead of a conventional battery.
With all-wheel drive and a claimed curb weight of just 1,595 kg, the Sián can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 350 km/h. These performance figures remain impressive more than six years after its debut.
Only 63 copies in the world
Its rarity also explains why each of its appearances attracts so much attention. Lamborghini produced only 63 units of the Sián FKP 37 coupe between 2020 and 2022, plus just 19 Sián Roadsters. Priced at around 2.5 million euros at launch, before options, the car can now fetch close to 3 million euros on the collector’s car market. In fact, there will soon be three of them for sale if you’re interested.
For Fernando Alonso, it’s just one Italian car among many. The Aston Martin driver has a collection that includes Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Pagani, and Lancias, among others. And unlike some collectors who keep their most prized cars tucked away, Alonso seems to have a different philosophy: to drive them.
