While Lamborghini unveils sales figures for 2023 about 2 months ago, it took a few more weeks before Audi AG, which owns the Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini and Ducati brandsshares the financial figures.
Unsurprising result, the figures are good. After a 9.5 % its sales, the bull brand grows by 12.1 % for sales, and 17.8 % for earnings. More precisely, sales rose from €2.37 to €2.66 billion, and profit from €614 million to €723 million. This is slightly below our estimates, which were based on the first half of 2023. The second half of the year was therefore a little weaker than expected.
This is still a very good score, even if Ferrari remains the leader in this area, with a 10-point increase in margin, and more than double sales. The estimated average shopping basket below also shows that a new Ferrari is sold on average at twice the price of a Lamborghini.
Figures for 2023 | Ferrari | Maserati | Lamborghini |
---|---|---|---|
Sales | 13 663 | 26 600 | 10 112 |
CA | 5.97 billion | 2.33 billion | 2.66 billion |
Medium basket | 436 946 €* | 87 593 €* | 263 053 €* |
Benefits | 1.25 billion | €141 million | 723 million |
Margin | 38 % | 6 % | 27 % |
Please note that Lamborghini's figures are based on with just two models, the Huracan and Urus, since only 63 Aventador models were sold. The latter is replaced by the new Revuelto with first deliveries expected in 2024 and a full order backlog until after 2026.
While sales volume may not increase much in 2024, sales and earnings are expected to be significantly lower. since the Revuelto is said to sell for over €600,000. When you consider that, in its heyday, Lamborghini sold over 1,000 Aventador models a year...
The Urus PHEV is also due to be unveiled in 2024, and is expected to feature the more powerful 4.0L V8 engine from the Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid.
