In the world of luxury automobiles, historic collaborations have often given rise to rolling masterpieces that leave their mark as much for their performance as for their design. With this in mind Lamborghini seems to be paving the way for a brand new project in collaboration with Italdesign.
Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Lamborghini, recently shared an intriguing post on the LinkedIn social network, mentioning the brand's promising future alongside its long-standing partners, notably Italdesign. "At Lamborghini, we are continually working on the future, both at Sant'Agata Bolognese and with our trusted partners like Italdesign," he said. The statement was accompanied by mention of meetings in Turin with Italdesign CEO Antonio Casu and their respective teams, to discuss the latest collaborations.
This announcement awakens the reminiscent of past collaborations between Lamborghini and Italdesign, including the creation of the Gallardoby Fabrizio Giugiaro, son of Giorgetto Giugiaro. The latter is famous for having designed the Lamborghini Cala concept car in 1995, a car that continues to fascinate enthusiasts. The reference to these earlier collaborations underlines the importance of the links forged between the two companies, and could presage a future project of considerable scope.
Although the details remain shrouded in mystery, Stephan Winkelmann himself expresses his impatience: "The future holds a lot in store for Lamborghini and its fans. I can't wait to tell you more about it."
What might this new project be? Is it a new tribute to an iconic model like the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 ? To be continued!
