Lamborghini strikes again with thehe Temerario presentationunveiled at Monterey Car Week 2024. The successor to the famous Huracan, the Temerario is positioned as the most extreme plug-in hybrid (PHEV) supercar ever produced by the Sant'Agata Bolognese brand. With a phenomenal 920 HP and an unprecedented twin-turbo V8 engineThis new Lamborghini redefines the limits of performance and innovation.
A revolutionary engine
At the heart of the Temerario is a totally new 4.0L V8 biturbo hybrid engine, designed and developed in-house by Lamborghini. Able to climb to 10,000 rpm, this engine is a true technical feat. By comparison, rival supercars such as the Ferrari 296 GTS PHEV and Ferrari SF90 Stradale, with revs of 7,000 rpm and 8,000 rpm respectively, seem almost modest compared to the Temerario.
This new 800 hp V8 engine is coupled to three electric motors (two on the front axle and a third between the motor and gearbox), offering a combined output of 920 hp and 730 Nm of torque available between 4,000 and 7,000 rpm. With acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds and a top speed of over 340 km/h, the Temerario sets a new benchmark in the hybrid supercar segment.
Cutting-edge design and technology
The Lamborghini Temerario is not just a performance beast; it also embodies a new era of design and technology for the brand. Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, describes the Temerario as "fuoriclasse", an Italian term meaning "out of class". This car stands out not only for its performance, but also for its innovative approach to design.
With Temerario, Lamborghini completes its strategy of transition to electrification, marking a major turning point in the brand's history. After the Revuelto and theUrus SEThe Temerario becomes the third model in the Lamborghini High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) range. This strategy, part of Lamborghini's Direzione Cor Tauri plan, makes the brand the first luxury carmaker to offer a fully hybridized range.
With the Temerario, Lamborghini shows that it is ready to dominate the future of supercars. Fans of the brand and supercar enthusiasts alike will find the Temerario a breathtaking machine, capable of mind-boggling performance.
Lamborghini's design is a little off the mark, but it's got style. Where Lamborghini really comes into its own is in the technical side of things, where the sheet of paper is insane and will force Ferrari to stay on top of sales.
