At a time when the automotive market is increasingly turning to electrified solutions, Fiat springs a surprise in France with the reintroduction of the diesel version of the Fiat Tipo. An unexpected comeback for a car withdrawn from the French catalog in 2022, but which is now back with a major trump card: an unbeatable price, starting at €16,900 with no strings attached.
An unexpected and profitable comeback
In a context where the future seems to be focused on electric or, at the very least, thermal hybrids, Fiat France has quietly put the Tipo diesel back on the agenda. The model, still available in other European countries, returns with a 130 hp diesel engine, and offers a particularly attractive package for French drivers.
From €16,900The basic version of this compact sedan, which has earned a solid reputation for value for money, is now available. But for those who want even more comfort and equipment, the Fiat Tipo City is available from €18,900. And it's no slouch when it comes to equipment.
For this price, the Fiat Tipo City does not disappoint: rearview camera, rear parking radar, cruise control, lane departure warning and, of course, air conditioning. All this is complemented by the Uconnect7 multimedia system, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, for the ultimate connected experience.
In 2024, few vehicles offer so many features at such a competitive price. That's what makes this Tipo diesel such an interesting choice, especially for those looking for a reliable, affordable vehicle.
Why this return?
The reason behind this decision remains a mystery. Fiat has not communicated clearly on this unexpected return to France. Perhaps it's a question of responding to a persistent demand for diesel engines in a more accessible price range, or a strategy to sell off stocks, or even a desire to make a name for itself in France. to support declining sales in France.
We would also have appreciated the return of the hatchback or SW. In any case, this Fiat Tipo diesel represents a real opportunity for those who want to change their car in 2024 without breaking the bank. With such an attractive price and such a complete range of equipment, it's hard to find anything better on the market. As the Fiat Tipo slogan used to say, "There's less good, but it's more expensive!"
The Tipo 2024 also comes with all the driving aids required in Europe as standard... Please Fiat, be smart and offer the Hatchback and SW versions in this beautiful blue color, including with the 1.0L turbo petrol. A Dacia Jogger 110hp petrol costs a minimum of 18,000 euros.
I should point out that to get the automatic air conditioning, rearview camera and all the other aids included in the Tipo on sale here, you need to take the Extreme trim, which starts at 21,500 euros. And what you get is a car which, objectively speaking, is a very ugly do-it-yourself project based on a Sandero, with the bodywork set back from the front doors, poorly soundproofed and less pleasant to drive. And basic white.
A yes agree with you and all! In a blue hatchback petrol hybrid! Waouhhh carton!!!!
Why did . To have abandoned the Panda 3 WHICH WAS GREAT! ! Appreciated by ALL! I have a 2 and a Panda 3 they are great! !
The Fiat Panda III has not been discontinued, and is now called the Panda Classic, City or Pandina depending on trim level (the latter taking over from the Panda Cross). It has been fitted with all the driving aids required for its launch in Europe. This is the Panda 4×4, which has not been sold since 2022.
Why not? Fiat's range is sparse, so why did they remove the Tipo from the catalog far too early?
Prices are super attractive. We also need a hybrid petrol version.
Clearly, a hybrid version of the Tipo (not the PureToc), without going for Tavaresque prices, would be a hit.
Do the same with the 500 X, which is no longer available.
You don't have a Tipo hybrid in France? I'm delighted with mine (in Switzerland), very economical (5 l / 100), 130 hp, all-digital dashboard. I never thought I'd be so happy with the way it drives, its comfort, the good assembly of its interior, etc. And given its energy efficiency, the annual car tax in my canton is only 140 CHF instead of 500 CHF for a Leon with the same power, for example.
This Tipo is finally following the path of reason. The electric SUV is already completely out of fashion, even second-hand.
Personally FAN of mechanics and especially long experience of turbo-diesels, it's done, the vehicle IS BUYED in blue...City version.
Awaiting delivery.
With this simple engine, a "REAL FIAT TURBO DIESEL ENGINE" and not too many gadgets and all "normally all already proven".
At this price and equipment level, don't hesitate for long. A good car without breaking the bank, even if with modular trunk only, hatchback or SW station wagon would have been TOP. and an "absolute best buy in this category in 2024"...
But you can't have everything in life, and at this price...? No hesitation...find better elsewhere...mission impossible.
Even in Germany (many Turks/Germans) live there and know it...and it's already doing very well in sales.
We'll see how it goes .... but even Dacia no longer produces diesel models and their prices are going up...too bad.
It's definitely a bargain. I bought one to follow on from my 1.4. 95hp petrol. It's night and day as far as engines go. And as said above, at this level of vehicle for this price, it's really a bargain.
I received mine last week after much thought. Everything's going to hell with electric cars, 3-cylinders are no fun, VW's not in great shape, EV clinic is releasing alarming reports...in short, I replaced my C4 cactus 1.2 82hp and 124,000km with which I've never had any problems.
I've got the city in blue, and the diesel can be heard at idle and high revs, but nothing dramatic, I'm not an energetic driver, and all in all, the comfort and noise balance is satisfactory.
Very satisfied with my purchase.
