At FerrariBeauty is often a matter of faith. But in recent years, some people have found it hard to recognize the Italian sensuality of yesteryear in the new creations from Maranello. 12Cilindri, 849 Testarossa, F80 or even SC40: the lines are becoming more technical, dictated by aerodynamics, standards and pure performance.

One of the symbols of this new era is the famous black stripe between the two headlights, a nod to the 365 Daytona, but one that continues to divide fans. While Ferrari will no doubt allow it to be removed via its Tailor Made program, Novitec, the German tuner, has not waited for Maranello's blessing to correct the situation.
Farewell to the black stripe

Novitec's redesigned Ferrari 12Cilindri now boasts a sleeker front end, painted in full body color. This simple detail changes everything: the look becomes purer, more aggressive, and some would even say more "Ferrari". As usual, Novitec doesn't stop there: the tuner offers a complete set of carbon elements, from the front spoiler to the rear diffuser, including mirror caps, air vents and rocker panels.

The whole thing isn't just about embellishment: every part has been optimized to improve stability and airflow, further refining the dynamic qualities of the front-engined GT.

Vossen wheels
For both styling and handling, Novitec has teamed up with Vossen, the American specialist in high-end wheels. The NF11 model, here mounted in 21-inch front and 22-inch rear, accentuates the 12Cilindri's stance, which is 30 mm lower thanks to short springs. The overall effect is to reinforce the car's muscular, sporty character, without going overboard visually.

A free symphony
Under the hood, the naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 remains unchanged... or almost. Novitec has added an Inconel exhaust system, the same alloy used in Formula 1 racing. Available with a gold-plated option for improved heat dissipation, this system finally liberates the V12's voice: the timbre becomes huskier, more lively, restoring the sonic magic that many found muffled on the original version.

For the time being, German engineers are still fine-tuning engine optimizations and are already preparing a more extreme version: the N-Largo kit, which, as on the 812 Superfast, could widen the bodywork by several centimetres and transform the 12Cilindri into a genuine road-legal track beast. So, correction or sacrilege? No matter: Novitec has dared where Ferrari wouldn't, and for many enthusiasts, it's the 12Cilindri that Maranello should have introduced in the first place.

Styling: apart from the rims, there's not much to keep from this model...
Tuning a Ferrari means saying that the original version isn't finished. But Ferraris are cars that are. Novitec keeps a relatively low profile, while Mansory goes for very bad taste. But I thought that modifying a Ferrari immediately meant being blacklisted by the brand?
In any case, a purist or a ferrarist does not enjoy tuning.
