Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc aren't the only Formula 1 drivers who own a very rare Ferrari Daytona SP3. Max Verstappen is also part of the very exclusive circle of owners of this Italian hypercar. Delivered in February 2026, its Ferrari had since kept a particularly low profile. But nine months later, the four-time F1 world champion's Ferrari was finally spotted on the streets of Monaco. And in the meantime, the value of that Ferrari has literally skyrocketed.

A Ferrari Daytona SP3 That Had Everyone Waiting in Anticipation
We had already mentioned the delivery of Max Verstappen’s Ferrari Daytona SP3 in February 2026. Since then, it’s been hard to find any trace of this car on social media. The Dutch driver seemed to have carefully kept his new toy out of the public eye.

This time, the Ferrari was definitely spotted on the streets of Monaco, and it’s hard to go unnoticed behind the wheel. With its red body, white stripes across the hood and roof, bronze-colored rims, and yellow brake calipers, Max Verstappen's Daytona SP3 has a particularly spectacular design. Its design, directly inspired by Ferrari prototypes from the 1960s, is unlike that of any other current Ferrari. At the rear, the numerous horizontal slats are reminiscent of Maranello’s historic race cars.

Hidden beneath this bodywork is, above all, a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine producing 840 HP and 697 Nm of torque. Without any hybrid technology, this engine allows the Daytona SP3 to reach 100 km/h in just 2.85 seconds and a top speed of 340 km/h.
A Ferrari bought for 2 million euros that's now worth 16 million!
But beyond this latest appearance, it’s the current value of this Ferrari that’s truly mind-boggling. When it was unveiled in November 2021, the Daytona SP3 was priced starting at around 2 million euros. That was already a considerable sum, but it now seems almost paltry in light of recent auction results.
In October 2025, a red model was sold at auction in Switzerland for 5.35 million Swiss francs, or approximately 5.6 million euros. At the time, this sale already confirmed collectors’ interest in this model, of which only 599 were produced for customers. But in August 2026, another Daytona SP3 completely shook up the market. At an auction organized by RM Sotheby’s in Monterey, a yellow copy from 2023, with only about 365 km on the odometer, found a buyer for the astronomical sum of $17.825 million—nearly 16 million euros!

And unlike the famous «599+1» Daytona SP3, sold for $26 million in 2025 As part of a charity auction, this time it was a standard copy from the limited edition series.
This raises questions about the value of Max Verstappen's. If his Daytona SP3 were put up for auction today, could it reach—or even exceed—16 million euros? There is no way to say for sure, as each sale depends largely on the car’s condition and mileage. But with an owner as famous as the four-time F1 world champion, its provenance could one day be an additional selling point for collectors.
