The Ferrari Luce was unveiled a few days ago, and we can't hide the fact that it's already causing quite a stir. First Ferrari The 100th electric % in the brand's history, announced at a price of over €500,000, is a source of great concern. Beyond its much-discussed design, for many people Ferrari is still synonymous with naturally-aspirated engines, melodious V8s and V12s, mechanical sensations and sonic emotion. Aware of this mistrust, the Maranello-based brand is stepping up its communications efforts to prepare the ground.
The latest example: Ferrari has Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton at the wheel of the Ferrari Luce to gather their first impressions. The video is as much a test drive as a message to skeptics.
A first meeting under the sign of sensations
From the very first seconds of the test, the reactions of the two drivers set the tone. Between hard acceleration and hard braking, one exclamation follows another. Charles Leclerc, clearly surprised by some of Lewis Hamilton's maneuvers, made no secret of his emotion, while both men immediately spoke of the car's sensations.

Ferrari's aim here is to convey a simple message: despite the absence of a combustion engine, the Luce must remain a Ferrari capable of provoking strong emotions. Ferrari insists that the project was never about developing «just another electric car», but an entirely new Ferrari, conceived from the outset around this technology.
Leclerc emphasizes Ferrari DNA
When Charles Leclerc took a closer look at the car, it was the attention to detail that caught his eye. According to him, despite this major technological breakthrough, the Ferrari DNA remains immediately identifiable.

The Monegasque insists on the work carried out around each component and on the overall coherence of the project. He also appreciates the return of physical controls in the cockpit, believing that they allow the driver to remain focused on driving rather than on the omnipresent touch screens.
Hamilton, initially sceptical, is now convinced
Perhaps the most interesting part of the video comes when Lewis Hamilton himself acknowledges his initial misgivings. The seven-time world champion explains that he grew up with noisy cars and strong engines. So the very idea of driving an electric Ferrari was «a bit of a shock».

However, once behind the wheel, his comments changed. Hamilton emphasizes the quality of the power distribution, the overall balance of the car and its behavior in corners. He also appreciates the artificial sound developed to accompany the driving experience, believing that it helps maintain an emotional connection with the car despite the absence of a traditional combustion engine.
Technology at the service of sensations
Throughout the test, both drivers commented on the Luce's impressive stability. They describe the car as constantly balanced and extremely reassuring, even at high speeds. Hamilton is particularly surprised by the car's technical sophistication. The result is a car that literally stays glued to the road, with a very low center of gravity and virtually no body movement. For both drivers, this mastery of handling is one of the main advantages of the electric technology developed by Ferrari.
This communication operation is probably what the Ferrari Luce is all about. More than just a new model, it represents a historic turning point for Maranello. And if purists continue to frown upon the arrival of an electric Ferrari costing over €500,000, the brand is already trying to demonstrate that the sensations are still there. Listening to Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari seems convinced that it has found the formula to make its most loyal customers accept this revolution.
