In the United States, an incredible collection of 46 Ferraris, including 24 yellow ones, is for sale: half a century of Ferrari passion

We thought we knew the Bachman legend, which we mentioned a few weeks ago. Today we discover the full extent of the family's holdings: 46 Ferraris, including 24 in Giallo Modena, will be sold at the prestigious Mecum Kissimmee 2026 sale (Florida), the culmination of a family history that began in the early 1980s. Icons of Maranello, often the last examples produced, with very low mileage and a rare degree of originality. A collection conceived as a chronological frieze of Ferrariand now offered to the market.

From the color of love at first sight to a signature

For Phil Bachman, it all goes back to a 308 GTS Quattrovalvole ordered in 1983, yellow by instinctive choice, to stand out from the ubiquitous Rosso Corsa. From there, a guiding principle was born: Modena yellow as an imprint, and a patient search for the most accomplished examples.

Over the decades, Bachman orders, selects, sometimes restores, but never resells. The result is a coherent, educational and moving collection, in which each car tells the story of Ferrari's evolution.

This rigor borders on asceticism: low mileage, crystal-clear provenance, concours restorations when required (think 275 GTB/4, 246 GTS "Chairs & Flares" or 250 GT/L Lusso). The Ferrari Club of America has awarded Platinum status to more than one of these cars, whose condition is as good as new.

The sale of a Ferrari pantheon

The scattering, orchestrated with the Phil & Martha Bachman Foundation and Christopher Miele (Prancing Horse of Nashville), will feature five major families telling the Ferrari story in large format:

  • Supercars: a 288 GTO (1985), two F40s (1992), an F50 (1995), an Enzo (2003), a LaFerrari (2015) and a LaFerrari Aperta (2017). Highlight: the original yellow FXX (2006), which took part in the factory program.
  • Front-engine V12s: from the 166 MM/53 Vignale Spyder (1953) to the F12tdf (2017), via the 250 GT/L Lusso (1964), the 275 GTB/4 Alloy (1967) and a trilogy of Daytona 365 GTB/4s.
  • Flat-12: the complete Boxer & Testarossa line (365 GT4 BB, 512 BB, 512 BBi, Testarossa, 512 TR, F512 M), with a 512 BBi.
  • Mid-engined V8s: from the 308 "Vetroresina" to the 458, with Challenge Stradale (x2), 430 Scuderia & Spider 16M, 458 Speciale Aperta, and the anecdotal but delightful F355 Spider Serie Fiorano n°100/100, the one that cemented Bachman's taste for the "last of the series".
  • Dino: two 246 GTS, including a much sought-after "Chairs & Flares".

Two Alfa Romeo 8Cs (Competizione and Spider) complete the fresco, as a nod to the other great Italian tale of melodious V8 design.

10 lots that will shake the room (selection)

  • 2015 458 Speciale A - 57 miles: one of the most desired V8 atmos hyper-variants of the modern era.
  • 2017 F12tdf - 68 miles: the latest radical V12 GT, ode to analog driving.
  • 2011 599 GTO - 103 miles: lyrical brutality, limited production, perfect combo for passionate investors.
  • 1995 F50 - 251 miles: F1 V12, carbon targa, U.S. rarity, open-air racing DNA.
  • 1992 F40 (x2) - 456 & 865 miles: the turbo icon par excellence, still with a factory aroma.
  • 2006 FXX (original yellow) - 2,318 km: chromatic uniqueness + factory program = piece of history.
  • 1989 Testarossa - 257 miles: 80s poster.
  • 1973 Dino 246 GTS - 4,997 km: Pininfarina sensuality, golden ticket to the Concours-lane.
  • 1985 288 GTO - 2,007 km: page 1 of Ferrari supercars.
  • 512 BBi (last serial number) - 609 km: the final version of a cult line.

Why this sale is already "historic

Because it combines quantity, quality and consistency in one place, and because the market now values originality (color, factory options, matching numbers) as much as preservation. Here, all three pillars are maximized, with the added bonus of a rare narrative thread: the latest, newest product, configured as closely as possible to the manufacturer's original intention.

For bidders, Kissimmee 2026 will be the moment of truth: where will the "Bachman" premium be set on cars that are already legendary? For other enthusiasts, it's a chance to see 46 Ferraris, including 24 yellow ones, recounting fifty years of Maranello in a single room.
