There's definitely something strange going on with the U.S. market for Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. While in Europe this Italian sports sedan is still considered a car in a class of its own—one capable of making enthusiasts’ hearts race—in the United States, some models continue to sell for prices that are almost hard to believe. The latest example? A 2018 Giulia Quadrifoglio sold for less than a Toyota Prius.
Only 36,500 $
The story once again takes place on the Cars & Bids platform, which has become an excellent indicator of used sports car prices in the United States. This Alfa Romeo A 2018 Giulia Quadrifoglio, with just 39,500 miles on the odometer—about 63,600 km—has just found a new owner for… 36,500 $. This price is about half of its original list price, since its first owner had paid 77,595 $ at the time.
To give you an idea, that amount is currently equivalent to the price of a well-equipped Toyota Prius in the United States. Except that in this case, we’re not talking about a hybrid designed to save fuel, but an Italian sedan equipped with a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine producing 510 ch and 600 Nm of torque. Rear-wheel drive, an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, 0 to 100 km/h in under 4 seconds, and a top speed of over 300 km/h: on paper, this Giulia Quadrifoglio remains a true rival to the BMW M3 and Mercedes-AMG C63 even today.

A highly desirable configuration
The most surprising thing is that the car sold didn’t look worn out or neglected at all. Quite the opposite, in fact. This Giulia Quadrifoglio comes in a stunning Montecarlo Blue Metallic finish paired with a black interior that combines leather and Alcantara. It also comes fully equipped with the Driver Assist Dynamic package, active suspension, Brembo brakes, a torque vectoring differential, carbon fiber accents, power-heated seats, and a Harman Kardon audio system.

The vehicle has a clean history, with no accidents or mileage discrepancies. A few cosmetic flaws have been noted, such as wear on the driver’s seat, a few scratches, and marks on the paint protection film, but nothing out of the ordinary for an eight-year-old sports car.

The recent maintenance history is also reassuring: front and rear brake pads were replaced in February 2026, rear brake rotors were replaced, and spark plugs, brake fluid, coolant, and the drive belt were all replaced in 2024. In short, it’s hard to explain such a low price based solely on the car’s condition.
A discount that is hard to understand from a European perspective
This is not an isolated case, however. In recent months, several Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio models have been sold in the United States for between 30,000 and 40,000 $, sometimes with particularly sought-after configurations. This situation once again highlights the difference in perception between the two continents.
In the United States, the Giulia Quadrifoglio is often coldly compared to the BMW M3 and other German sports sedans. Concerns about maintenance, reliability, and resale value continue to weigh on its reputation, despite the many owners who now defend the reliability of models that are properly maintained.
In Europe, it’s hard to imagine a car like this staying on the market for long. An unmodified Montecarlo Blue Giulia Quadrifoglio with a clean history and only 63,000 km at this price would likely attract a flood of messages within minutes.
Ultimately, this latest sale confirms a surprising trend: in the United States, one of the most memorable Italian sports sedans of recent years continues to be underappreciated. That’s bad news for American dealers, but an incredible opportunity for buyers who dare to take the plunge.
