4 years after placing the order, he took delivery of his Alfa Romeo ‘Perla Nera’ for 3 million euros

A four-year wait for a car like no other. After ordering his Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale In 2022, when the model still existed only as sketches and digital images, a collector has finally taken possession of his copy. And not just any copy: the 33 Stradale «Perla Nera», a one-of-a-kind creation, entirely clad in exposed carbon fiber. After several weeks on display at the museum Alfa Romeo From Arese, this supercar—estimated to be worth about 3 million euros—has now left the premises to be delivered to its owner.

An order placed in 2022, based on a simple promise

To understand this delivery, we have to go back to September 2022, during the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. At that time, Jean-Philippe Imparato, then head of Alfa Romeo, was trying to bring a somewhat crazy project to life: reviving the legendary 1967 33 Stradale in a limited series of just 33 cars. As we had reported in a previous article, Carlos Tavares had agreed to the project on one condition: The 33 cars were to be sold even before they were produced. The first collectors therefore signed their order forms without ever having seen a single actual car. Four years later, one of them finally got to see the result of his patience.

Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale with exposed carbon fiber

Officially unveiled on September 28, 2026, at the Arese Museum, the «Perla Nera» bears a name chosen—and even trademarked—by its owner. And you only have to look at the photos to understand why. Unlike the other 33 Stradales, this particular model features a body made entirely of exposed carbon fiber with a matte finish. No paint to hide the material. Each fiber was manually arranged in the molds to follow the curves of the body, particularly the famous V-shape of the front hood. The owner also requested all-black wheels and a body stripped of any unnecessary logos. The result is spectacular, with an almost stealthy silhouette that contrasts with the sensual lines of this Alfa Romeo.

Custom-designed interior

Inside, the customization goes even further. Black Alcantara covers much of the interior, complemented by numerous carbon fiber accents. But the most striking detail is the driver's seat, designed specifically for the owner's body type, after several design sessions. The headrests have also been redesigned, while the rotary selector bears his initials. The car even comes with a set of custom-made luggage pieces in black Alcantara, numbered to match the specific vehicle they belong to.

Over 630 HP for a collector's item

Under this exceptional bodywork lies a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine producing more than 630 HP, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Alfa Romeo claims a 0 to 100 km/h time of less than three seconds and a top speed of 333 km/h. But beyond its performance, it is above all the culmination of a journey that began four years ago that captures the attention. The new photos show the Perla Nera ready to leave the Alfa Romeo Museum, where it was on display until October 18.

After being admired by visitors in Arese, this multi-million-euro Alfa Romeo is now set to embark on a new chapter. One envisioned by its owner as early as 2022, when he agreed to buy a car that didn’t even exist yet.
