Maserati to exhibit at CES 2025 with all-new MC20

Maserati will present a new version of its supercar MC20 at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, starting on January 7, 2025, thanks to a major collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano.

This collaboration between Maserati and the Politecnico di Milano, Italy's leading university of science and technology, will be displayed with the presentation of a unique MC20 Cielo. This supercar will be equipped with fully autonomous driving, powered by artificial intelligence. This project, piloted by the Politecnico di Milano and the National Center for Sustainable Mobility (MOST), is dedicated to the development and validation of autonomous driving technologies, in order to make them safe and effective in real-life conditions.

An autonomous MC20 that already has miles and a record on the clock

This autonomous MC20 is not totally new. It has already made motor racing history, taking part in the 1000 Miglia 2023 and 2024. And it was at the end of November 2024 that the sports car achieved a genuine world record. During a high-speed test run on the Piacenza-San Damiano airport runway, the autonomous Maserati MC20 Coupé reaches an impressive 285 km/h. This record was achieved in difficult weather conditions, with thick fog and no human pilot on board.

Sergio Matteo Savaresi, scientific leader of the project and Director of the Department of Electronics, Computer Science and Bioengineering at Politecnico di Milano, emphasized the importance of these tests: "The aim is to test the responsiveness of the robot-conductor under extreme conditions. This allows us to push the limits of technology to improve the safety and reliability of autonomous vehicles."
