A Lamborghini Huracan 640 hp, that's got some serious power? Little player! Take a look at what the Norwegians from Zyrus Engineering are capable of! Zyrus is a Norwegian tuner who also competes in the Super Trofeo championship. They first developed a Huracan LP1200 R circuit version, based on the Huracán LP 640-2 Super Trofeo. This 1200 hp, twin-turbocharged configuration was entered in the Norwegian GT+ championship for two years, winning the title in 2020. Indeed, the GT+ class of this championship allows the entry of highly modified and radical cars.
The Zyrus LP1200 R have covered more than 18,000 km on legendary circuits such as Spa-Francorchamps, where they clocked a time of 2 minutes 20 seconds during one day of testing, almost 10 to 15 seconds better than the best GT3s. At the Nürburgring, they even completed a lap in 6 minutes 48 seconds on a mixed day. Testing continued in hot weather on the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi and on the Dubai Autodrome in the Middle East.
"Fifteen years have gone by since we started racing, and five years of racing with Lamborghini and in-house development enabled us to reach this milestone, with attention to the smallest detail. Many said it couldn't be done, but we stayed focused and never gave up".rejoices Zyrus.

A radical road version!
Zyrus then set about developing a "street legal" version, the Zyrus LP1200 Strada! The project resulted in over 600 parts being replaced, modified and reinforced, including new removable carbon-fiber body panels with quick-release fasteners, all designed and manufactured in-house to improve aerodynamic downforce and optimize handling stability at high speeds.
From the outside, it's clear that this is one wild ride, with its carbon bodywork, numerous air intakes, racecar-inspired splitter and oversized gooseneck rear spoiler. The Strada weighs just 1,427 kilos on the scales, and its specific aerodynamic elements can generate "more than 2,000 kilos of downforce at over 200 km/h", according to its designers. From the side, it looks like it came straight out of Les Hunaudières, with a longtail-style stern!

Almost double the power of the basic Huracan!
Under the hood is a twin-turbo version of the Huracán's 5.2-liter V10. The engine features three selectable driving modes: Strada (700 hp), Sport (900 hp) and Corsa (1,200 hp), which can be activated for track use. It is also equipped with a custom-made Inconel exhaust system, a material found, for example, on F1 exhausts. The powerful V10 benefits from optimized cooling thanks to new top-mounted directional fans. To handle this power increase of almost 100 %, the engine also received an optimized fuel injection system, new oil coolers, more efficient radiators, machined air intakes and a Motec ECU.

The LP1200 is equipped with Öhlins four-point adjustable suspension, a custom air suspension system, carbon-ceramic brakes and forged wheels, 19" at the front and 20" at the rear.

This radical and brutal Strada doesn't forget to be a little refined, however, with an interior packed with leather, carbon fiber and Alcantara. Safety is not neglected, with a partial titanium roll bar, four-point harnesses and an FIA-compliant fire extinguishing system. However, some of the Huracán's standard comfort features are also included, such as the 8.4-inch central touchscreen, air conditioning and rearview camera. The latter is undoubtedly very useful, given the size of the spoiler.

On the track version, there's also a separate screen, mounted near the steering wheel, which serves as a control panel for a video and data recording system offering telemetric information on track driving and temperature monitors. A unique electronic control system, dubbed the "Smart Dash", uses sensors to power an iCloud-compatible data acquisition, telemetry and temperature monitoring system, where drivers can view parameters and analyze options via their smartphone, which can be attached to the dashboard mount, and upload data to the cloud for more in-depth off-track analysis.
All this comes at a price. The LP1200 costs £762,000 excluding options, or €880,000, or $1 million. However, this base price includes a three-year warranty, the cost of a basic Huracán and circuit training. A dozen Strada models are planned, with the remainder dedicated to the racetrack.
