He has been living in his Lamborghini—which he converted into a camper van—for the past two years and has traveled through 35 countries: Russia is his next challenge

A few months ago, we told you about Connor's completely crazy story, this American who quit his job, sold his house, and bought a Lamborghini Urus with one goal: to travel around the world. More than two years after setting out and having traveled through dozens of countries, his Italian SUV is still his car, his kitchen, his bedroom… and now his means of transportation as he explores Russia.

A destination that’s anything but ordinary for an American… As he sets off toward the Russian border, Connor admits that he doesn’t really know what to expect. And just to spice up the adventure, he sets himself nine challenges: take a photo in Red Square, go out with a Russian model, visit a Russian sauna, meet the «Bentley Girl» influencer, appear on national television, get his Lamborghini serviced, host an American-style barbecue, and meet Putin.

An American, a Lamborghini, and the Russian border

A few kilometers before the border, the atmosphere changes. Connor takes out local insurance for his Urus—about $60 for a month—and then walks up to the checkpoint with his Lamborghini registered in the United States.

And unlike local drivers, he isn’t allowed to drive right through. He is taken to an office, where his fingerprints are taken and photos are snapped. Russian security officials then want to know who he is, why he’s coming to Russia, and—an inevitably unusual question—why he lives in a Lamborghini. The agents also examine his phone and question him about Russian politics and Ukraine. Connor explains to them that his trip has nothing to do with governments or politics: his plan is simply to travel the world. Finally, his passport is stamped. Connor and his incredible Lamborghini are allowed to enter Russia.

Once across the border, the adventure almost immediately takes an unlikely turn again. Connor runs a few errands before looking for a place to spend the night. No luxury hotel to match his Italian SUV: he drives deep into the forest and sets up camp.

It’s worth noting that his Urus bears little resemblance to an ordinary Lamborghini SUV. During his round-the-world trip, Connor transformed it into a miniature RV: a sleeping area in the back, a refrigerator, a kitchen area, filtered water, batteries, and solar panels. The vehicle also features all-terrain tires, protective guards, and a winch. The next morning, however, made it clear that traveling through Russia in a converted Lamborghini isn’t exactly five-star camping. So here he is again, back on the road heading toward Moscow.

The trip quickly becomes complicated. Getting a local SIM card proves difficult for a foreigner, and Connor explains that he’s having serious problems with his GPS. He eventually asks locals directly for directions to continue on to Moscow. Another problem: his American credit cards don’t work. Despite the difficulties, the Lamborghini elicits the same reaction everywhere. Locals come up to take pictures, some recognize Connor from his videos, and in Gagarine, about fifteen people even end up gathering around him.

Then, finally, Moscow comes into view. Connor drives past some of the capital’s most famous landmarks until he catches sight of the Kremlin. But of course, the story couldn’t end on such a peaceful note: a few moments later, the police signal him to pull over, right next to the Kremlin… and that’s where the video ends! But this is only Episode 1. After more than two years of living in his Lamborghini, Connor has just added Russia to his incredible travel log.
