There was a time when Italian brands ruled only the tarmac. Today, they sail the seas, each with its own style, philosophy and technology. Maserati, Ferrari and Lamborghini are no longer content with building the world's most desirable cars: they also want to conquer the oceans. Between ecology, speed and design, Italy is now writing a new page in its history, on the water.
Maserati: electric luxury on the sea
To mark the launch of the new electric GranCabrio Folgore, Maserati has taken the plunge. The brand with the Trident presented the Tridentea 34-foot electric yacht designed in partnership with Vita Power, a reference in clean marine technologies.

With 600 horsepower supplied by two electric motors, the Tridente combines elegance and innovation. It can reach speeds of up to 40 knots, with a range of around 70 kilometers before needing to be recharged. The 252 kWh battery can be recharged in less than an hour using a DC fast plug, a record for electric boating.

In terms of design, the Maserati hallmark is evident: carbon-fiber hull, taut lines, pink-gold finish and, of course, the trident sitting proudly on the bow. The interior, by Hodgdon Yachts, exudes Italian refinement: cream cockpit, sundeck, U-shaped saloon and en-suite cabin. A zero-emission yacht priced at $2.6 million.

Ferrari: sailing as a new playground
When Ferrari gets involved in sailing, it's bound to be to redefine the rules. The Ferrari Hypersail, unveiled in Maranello, is a 100-foot monohull capable of "flying" on water thanks to foils worthy of Formula 1 racing.

Directed by Giovanni Soldini and designed with architect Guillaume Verdier, the project aims for total energy autonomy: no combustion engine, only solar, wind and kinetic energy. Everything is designed to maximize efficiency: F1-derived aerodynamics, assisted steering, precision energy management... Ferrari applies all its motorsport expertise to ocean sailing.

The boat, currently under construction in Italy, is due to be launched in 2026. The Hypersail is not (yet) aiming for competition, but opens up a new era: that of a sustainable, technological and poetic Ferrari, which takes to the sea not to win, but to experiment.
Lamborghini: pure power at 7,600 hp
And while Maserati focuses on electric silence and Ferrari on futuristic sailing, Lamborghini, true to its reputation, opts for... excess. At the Monaco Yacht Show 2025, the brand from Sant'Agata Bolognese unveiled the Tecnomar for Lamborghini 101FTa 30-metre, 7,600-horsepower sea monster.

Under the hull, three 35.7-liter V16 MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines propel the yacht at 45 knots, or over 80 km/h. That's seven Lamborghini Fenomeno hypercars in one boat.

The exterior features the styling cues of the brand's supercars: sharp lines, Y-shaped headlamps, Giallo Crius yellow paintwork, while the interior offers a hypercar-like cockpit and luxurious space for nine passengers. "Performance, design, innovation", sums up Stephan Winkelmann. Here, Lamborghini transposes its raw, extravagant DNA to the sea.
Three visions, one Italian pride
Electric, sail-powered or gasoline-powered: these three boats tell the story of three visions of Italian luxury. Maserati focuses on elegance, Ferrari on innovation, Lamborghini on absolute power. All, in their own way, embody the evolution of Italian luxury.
