Ferrari continues its record-breaking year with a new surprise straight out of Maranello. After the 296 Speciale, Amalfi, 849 Testarossa and its Spider versionnot to mention the technical underpinnings of the future Ferrari ElettricaHere's the sixth new model for 2025: the Ferrari SC40. A mysterious name that we had already spotted back in June, when Ferrari registered two intriguing trademarks: CZ26 and SC40.
A unique creation, a tribute to the F40 legend
This SC40 is not a production supercar, but a one-off from Ferrari's Special Projects program. Designed by the Ferrari styling center headed by Flavio Manzoni, it is built on the technical base of the 296 GTB, incorporating its 830 hp V6 hybrid rear mid-engine architecture.

But beyond the mechanics, it's the spirit that catches the eye: the SC40 is a modern reinterpretation of the legendary 1987 F40. Its angular lines, fixed spoiler, open-work rear hood and sweeping proportions immediately recall the legend of the Enzo Ferrari era, while infusing it with a signature that can be found on all new contemporary Ferraris. Ferrari makes it clear that the aim was not to create a modern replica, but a model with its own personality.

A 296 in F40 make-up
Beneath its sculptural exterior, the SC40 hides the technology of the 296 GTB. The 2,992 cm³ 120° V6, assisted by an electric motor, delivers 830 hp for a 0 to 100 km/h time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of over 330 km/h. Enough to offer performance worthy of a supercar, even if the role of spiritual heir to the F40 will undoubtedly fall to the future Ferrari F80even more radical.

Here, the SC40 is more about emotional design and symbolic value. Its white bodywork, christened SC40 White, was developed especially for this project. This cool, metallic tone subtly reflects the light, while the carbon fiber details and embossed SC40 logos are a reminder of its exclusivity. We'd have preferred yellow or red...
Between industrial art and mechanical purity

Every feature of the SC40 seems dictated by geometry: a long, low hood, hollowed sides dominated by large carbon-fiber air extractors, and an imposing fixed spoiler painted in the same signature white tone. The whole is punctuated by clean, almost architectural vertical lines, a signature of design chief Flavio Manzoni.

At the rear, the black grille hints at the mechanical components, the taillights evoke the 296 GTB, and a titanium and carbon central exhaust completes the visual symphony. The result: a car that bridges the gap between past and future.

The interior will please purists
On board, Ferrari pays direct homage to the F40 through the use of Kevlar, the emblematic material of 80s supercars. Here, it is revisited: carbon-Kevlar in the rocker panels, behind the seats, on the steering wheel and even on the floor mats. The interior is a blend of anthracite-gray Alcantara and Jacquard-red technical fabric, with an SC40 logo woven into the headrests.

2 years of work
Like all projects in the Special Projects program, the SC40 was custom-designed for a single customer, hand-in-hand with Maranello's designers. Every detail, from the design of the wheels to the choice of materials, was validated by the lucky owner. The project took almost two years to complete, and a non-roadworthy copy will be on display at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello from October 18.

It looks like an NSX.
Sieht echt geil und einzigartig aus😍 jedoch erinnert er mich eher an einen Lamborghini Countach oder Maserati MC12 remake als an den F40, sorry!!! Jedoch echt heisser Wagen😍😍😍😍
I love my love 💕
With those headlights that remind me of the MC12, I could see a Maserati grille.
