It's hard to go unnoticed in Monaco, even behind the wheel of a supercar. But Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio managed it effortlessly, showing off his latest jewel: a Ferrari F80 brand-new. The young Ray-Ban boss, who is in his thirties, was spotted on the streets of the Principality driving an iconic red model, true to tradition. Ferrari, enhanced by black details. An almost unreal scene in the already spectacular setting of Monte Carlo, where the hypercar seems perfectly at home.
One of the first Ferrari F80s delivered in Europe
The Ferrari F80 is only at the beginning of its commercial career. Introduced in 2024 and produced in just 799 examples, it remains an extremely rare object. As a reminder, the first deliveries began at the end of 2025, The first copy was given to a London collector.

A few months later, Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio received his, confirming his status as one of Maranello's first privileged customers. A very closed circle, reserved for the most influential collectors loyal to the brand.
A hypercar at the cutting edge of technology
The F80's fascination lies not only in its exclusivity. It also represents Ferrari's current technological pinnacle. Beneath its bodywork lies a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 derived from the 499P, coupled with several electric motors. The result is a combined output of 1,200 hp. The performance figures live up to the hype: 0 to 100 km/h in 2.15 seconds and a claimed top speed of 350 km/h. With an entry price of around 3.6 million euros, this hypercar follows in the footsteps of legendary models such as the F40, F50 and LaFerrari, while embodying a new, more electrified era.

This new model doesn't come alone in the Italian businessman's garage. Already a car enthusiast, Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio owns a number of iconic pieces, including a Ferrari Enzo and a Maserati MC12, two models often considered “twins” given the close links between their history and design. The arrival of the F80 adds to an already impressive collection, confirming Leonardo's taste for the most exclusive cars in Italian automotive history.
The heir turned major player in Italian capitalism
Beyond the automotive world, Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio is gradually establishing himself as a key figure in the business world. The son of Luxottica's founder, he is now Chairman of Ray-Ban and holds a strategic role within EssilorLuxottica.
Since his father's death in 2022, he has multiplied his investments, with over 50 holdings and several hundred million euros committed. He is also in the process of reinforcing his control over Delfin, the family holding company which holds major stakes in groups such as Generali and UniCredit. A dazzling trajectory for the man who refuses to be simply “the heir”, and who intends to make a lasting impact on the Italian economy... while enjoying, visibly, the finest creations from Maranello.
