Cavallino Modena: An Immersion into the World's Most Exclusive and Intimate Ferrari Event

Every year, prestigious Ferrari gatherings take place all over the world. Some are impressive for their size, others for the rarity of the models on display. But for many enthusiasts, the true spirit Ferrari It’s not to be found at major auto shows or the most high-profile concours d’élégance. It’s tucked away in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, a few kilometers from Maranello, at the Cavallino Modena. This is precisely what the We Are Curated channel set out to show in an immersive video released this week.

A Ferrari event on a human scale

For John Temerian, founder of Curated, Cavallino Modena is probably one of the best Ferrari events in the world. Unlike the famous Cavallino Classic in Palm Beach, known for its scale, the Italian version focuses on exclusivity and intimacy. Held at Casa Maria Luigia, the estate of Michelin-starred chef Massimo Bottura, the event brings together only about thirty carefully selected cars. Here, there are no huge crowds or tens of thousands of visitors. Owners, collectors, and guests share a weekend in an almost family-like atmosphere.

According to John, it is precisely this intimacy that makes the experience unique. Ferraris are everywhere—in the alleys, in front of buildings, or parked near the gardens. Conversations between enthusiasts and owners linger over a meal or a cup of coffee, far from the sometimes rigid formalities of major car shows.

An Exceptional Ferrari 550 Barchetta

The Italian Trip of Curated also had a very specific goal: to present a rare Ferrari 550 A Barchetta recently acquired in Monaco. This car is no ordinary 550 Barchetta. Finished in an elegant Grigio Titanio paint scheme paired with a Bordeaux interior, it was originally ordered new by Dutch collector Martin Van Doorne, heir to the famous DAF company. Its history is particularly impressive, with complete documentation preserved since it was ordered in Maranello.

Original invoices, correspondence with Ferrari, special options, customization requests: everything has been preserved. Even the accessories that came with the car are still in their original packaging.

The Spirit of Motor Valley

The video isn’t just about the competition. It also highlights what makes Italy’s Motor Valley so magical. From restoration workshops to the winding roads surrounding Maranello, every scene serves as a reminder that this region remains the birthplace of some of the world’s greatest automobiles. Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, and Pagani coexist here in a unique ecosystem where artisanal expertise has been passed down through generations. These artisans continue to preserve these historic cars for future generations. Restoring, documenting, and keeping these models on the road are an integral part of the local automotive culture.

When a Lamborghini Crashes the Party

One of the most surprising stories of the weekend involved a Lamborghini Miura SV that Curated had just delivered to its new owner. Out of respect for the Ferrari event, the team had decided to move the Lamborghini away from the venue. But host Massimo Bottura’s reaction was quite different. Passionate about his region’s entire automotive heritage, he asked for the Lamborghini Miura to be brought back the very next day so he could show it to certain guests, including representatives from Lamborghini who were also in attendance. Beyond the brands themselves, it is above all the Italian passion for cars that is celebrated.

More Than Just a Car Race

Through this immersive experience, We Are Curated demonstrates that Cavallino Modena is much more than just an exhibition of rare Ferraris. It is a gathering where collectors, restorers, historians, and enthusiasts come together, all sharing the same fascination with Italy’s automotive heritage. Cavallino Modena retains a human touch that has become rare. It’s a weekend when Ferraris actually cruise the roads of Maranello, when owners share the stories behind their cars, and when you can still feel the direct connection between the models on display and their homeland.

This is undoubtedly why many collectors today consider the Cavallino Modena to be one of the most authentic Ferrari experiences in the world.
