This Eccentrica V12, a restomod of the Lamborghini Diablo, steals the show at a car meet in Milan

Sometimes all it takes is a single car to make you forget all the others. In Milan, at another Quelli di Piazza Affari gathering, an Eccentrica V12 literally captivated the enthusiasts gathered in the square. Surrounded by youngtimers, Italian classics, and more recent sports cars, this modern reinterpretation of the Lamborghini Diablo quickly became the center of attention.

In this configuration, dubbed the Rose Phoenix, Eccentrica Automobili’s creation didn’t need to roar to draw a crowd. Whether with its doors open, its rear hood raised, or simply parked amid onlookers, the car turned this Sunday gathering into a veritable open-air photo shoot.

A square in Milan that is transformed every Sunday

"Quelli di Piazza Affari" is neither a car show nor a traditional event. Every Sunday morning, several Italian squares spontaneously welcome enthusiasts who come to display their cars, chat, take photos of the vehicles on display, and share their passion.

In Milan, Piazza Affari has become one of the iconic venues for this event. Between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., classic cars take center stage, while “youngtimers” and more recent models are spread out around the square. There are no tickets, no registration, and no official program—just cars and enthusiasts. Against this quintessentially Italian backdrop, the appearance of an Eccentrica V12 was sure to turn heads.

A reimagined Diablo that looks like it came from the future

Unveiled for the first time in 2024, the Eccentrica V12 is the creation of Eccentrica Automobili, a company founded by collector Emanuel Colombini. Its goal is clear: to revive the spirit of the Lamborghini Diablo while correcting its flaws and incorporating modern technologies.

The car spotted in Milan is the Rose Phoenix version, recognizable by its rose gold metallic paint with iridescent highlights. Depending on the light, the body color shifts from champagne to copper, which likely explains why it attracts so much attention on the streets of Milan.

The photos show a car constantly surrounded by onlookers. Some are capturing the details of the bodywork, while others are examining the butterfly doors or peering into the open engine compartment. Even when parked next to other classic cars, the Eccentrica seems to steal the spotlight.

A 550 ch naturally aspirated V12 at the heart of the action

Beneath this body, which is largely made of carbon fiber, lies the legendary 5.7-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine. After being reengineered, it now produces approximately 550 ch and 600 Nm, paired with a six-speed manual transmission.

The interior combines leather, Alcantara, aluminum, and carbon fiber, while the reinforced chassis, semi-active suspension, and Brembo brakes radically modernize the driving experience. Photos from the event also offer a glimpse of the fully exposed engine bay. The mechanical components, carbon fiber air intakes, and Capristo exhaust system are almost a work of art in their own right, so much so that several visitors gathered around the rear of the car to photograph every detail.

With only 19 units produced, the Eccentrica V12 remains an extremely exclusive car. But for a few hours, surrounded by car enthusiasts in Piazza Affari, it served above all as a reminder that a car can still inspire wonder simply by pulling up in an Italian square on a Sunday morning.
